The Sunshine Club was recently able to learn about another one of our community workers. They visited our elementary guidance office and learned that Mrs. Saffell loves to help kids be the best "Me" they can be, her door is always open, and she is always available to talk if students have big problems. Thanks, Mrs. Saffell!

National School Counseling Week highlights the tremendous impact school counselors can have in helping students achieve school success and plan for a career. Thank you for everything that you do to help our students succeed, Mrs. Saffell and Mrs. Wagenhauser!

Mrs. Thompson's 5th grade ELA class recently met their reading goal, with the reward of participating in Potato Olympics! Each student decorated a potato to use in the competition. Categories included: Relay Races, Dancing, Diving, Bowling, and Long Jump. Keep up the great work!

Mrs. Hoffmire's Sunshine Club recently visited the office of Mr. Lee, our school Treasurer. They learned that Mr. Lee is in charge of making sure there is enough money to pay the bills, keep the lights on in the school, and provide jobs for our teachers and staff.
Mr. Lee showed the class a stack of fifty $1 bills and explained if you were to stack them on top of each other, it would take a stack as high as 3-4 windmills to pay for the school to run for one year. He also talked about the importance of learning about numbers and math skills. As a young student, Mr. Lee did not like math. However, he reminded the kindergarteners that it is important to learn all about numbers because you'll need them for many areas of your life, and you never know what career you'll end up in. Thank you, Mr. Lee!
