Mrs. Wise is welcoming our preschoolers this morning on autopilot: “Alexa, Teach My Class!” ☕️

Mrs. Aeschliman's kindergarteners took advantage of the beautiful sunshine yesterday. They wrapped up their 5-senses unit with some very special glasses that helped them observe the world outside! They have been working hard on their Science journals; great job, Blackbirds!

Our Blackbird staff and students have voted and our Library return cart officially has a name: Dolly Carton.
Thanks to Mr. Waidelich, STEAM teacher, for printing the label. Our Library Aide, Grace did a great job adding it to the cart!
Did you know? Dolly Parton created the Imagination Library in 1995 to provide free books to children in her home county in Tennessee. Today, the organization mails over 1,000,000 books each month to homes across the USA. Her hope is to inspire children to Dream More, Learn More, Care More, and Be More. Thank you, Dolly! 📚

REMINDER: Student Council is sponsoring a blood drive on Wednesday, October 9th. The Red Cross is in URGENT need of blood donations. Please consider signing up to donate! https://www.redcrossblood.org/give.html/drive-results?zipSponsor=PETTISVILLEHS

Mrs. Wixom's 3rd graders became the teacher this week! Each group was challenged with presenting on their assigned life cycle. They taught their peers about the life cycles of ladybugs, dragonflies, frogs, and fish. Well done, Blackbirds! 🐸 🐟 🐞

Last week, preschool through 5th grade learned about #InternationalDotDay
Mrs. Lammers read “The Dot” by Peter H. Reynolds to each class, and the students got to be creative in the Library.
The Dot is the story of a caring teacher who dares a doubting student to trust in her own abilities by being brave enough to “make her mark”. What begins with a small dot on a piece of paper becomes a breakthrough in confidence and courage, igniting a journey of self-discovery and sharing, which has gone on to inspire countless children and adults around the globe.

Great job, Blackbirds! ⚪️⚫️🟣🔵🔴🟠🟢🟡

Memphis recently took a tour of the new S.T.E.A.M. Lab. He was challenged by Mr. Waidelich to come up with a way for the blades to turn more independently than the current rubber band method. Memphis has already put some ideas on paper, and is excited to participate in this cross-curricular learning opportunity.

Congratulations to our PHS Golfers 🏌🏼♂️

Mrs. Fox does a great job building community! From a PES Fun Friday committee member, adding joy to our elementary's Fridays, to bringing fun and fellowship to our staff lounge- thanks for all you do, Mrs. Fox!
Scroll to the end to see what Officer Schlosser found.

At 2:54 p.m., a panic button was inadvertently pushed that gave the announcement for the district to go into lockdown. There was no threat, and no reason to lockdown, as confirmed by SRO Schlosser and administration.
Today, Mrs. Pennington welcomed Elise into her “kitchen” - The Dollar Diner. The lesson was an “interview” for counting change. They talked about the importance of being able to make the correct change to ensure that both the customer and the business have the right amount. Way to make learning fun, Mrs. Pennington!

Thank you to Jason Rodriguez for power washing the Pettisville Music Booster's stand. We also want to send a big Blackbird thank you to all of our community members, students, parents, and staff who helped during this year's Fulton County Fair. You are appreciated!
