Our 6th graders spent time this week learning about Mesopotamia: writing and decoding words in Cuneiform (ancient written language) and building Ziggurats (rectangular shaped pyramid-like structures).

The HS Science Research and Inquiry class is busy putting the final pieces of their presentations together for the local science fair. Six students total will be interviewed by local professionals before going on to present at several other science fairs. Good Luck, Blackbirds!



The Board of Education's next meeting will take place Monday, February 14th, at 7:00 PM. The meeting is open to the public.

This Saturday, February 12th, the FFA will be available to help unload your aluminum, plastic, cardboard, magazines, newspapers & more. Please clean any cardboard by removing plastic, styrofoam, other packing materials before breaking it down. If the trailer is full, please come back with your cardboard at a later time. Thank you.

Students are using Graphical Analysis on their Chromebooks and a digital force meter to measure static and kinetic frictional forces. The blending of fundamental friction lab methods with today’s technology to make measurements. Way to go, Blackbirds!

Our 2nd Grade classes celebrated the 101st day of school today. Mrs. Holsopple's class celebrated 101 Dalmatian style and Mrs. Borton's class created masterpieces with 101 items. It's another great day to be a Blackbird!
Last Friday, Kindergarten had a special visitor, Mrs. Nancy Roth. Mrs. Roth was born and raised in the country of Congo in Africa. In preparation for the 100th Day of school, she came to teach about life for children in Africa. Fun Fact: Mrs. Roth was the Elementary Principal of some of our kindergarten parents! Thank you for sharing with our little Blackbirds.
