Birds of a feather... flock together and play Duck, Duck, Goose! What started out as a small game in the stones, turned into the entire KG class playing together on the concrete! It was started and led by students. Way to go, Blackbirds!

Mrs. Hoffmire's KG class has been learning about pumpkins and had fun being pumpkin scientists. They recently carved their class pumpkin, Cheekalinda, and will keep a close watch as it decomposes and changes over the next few months.

Mrs. Schramm will be hosting the Scholastic Book Fair in the Library from Monday, Oct. 31 - Friday, Nov. 4. Students will get the chance to shop with their class during the school day. Parents may come in to shop after school Wednesday until 4:30, Thursday, until 7:30pm or Friday 10am-1pm.

Just a reminder of the Blackbirds in OHSAA Tournament action on Saturday, October 22. The cross country teams will run at District Meet at Leaders Farms Scream Acres. The boys will run at 9:00 AM and the girls will run at 11:10 AM. The soccer team will play at Ottawa Hills in the sectional final at 12:00 PM. All tickets for the cross country meet and soccer match must be purchased online at https://www.ohsaa.org/tickets No season passes, staff passes, league passes, cash, etc. will be accepted at the admission gate. Good luck to all of our teams. Go Blackbirds!

Last week, Mrs. Meller's Environmental Science class hiked 3 miles along the Ohio Buckeye Trail (towpath), enjoyed lunch at Independence Dam, and traveled to the Florida bridge and Napoleon boat docks for water quality analysis. They also picked up litter along their way!
