
Congratulations to 8th grader Lyla Heising who will be recognized at the Scholastic Art & Writing Awards ceremony today at Carnegie Hall in NYC. Lyla was awarded a national gold medal for her short story “Just Being Me.”

The 4 x 800 meter relay team of Elizabeth Sauder, Nichole Foor, Kate Stuber, and Morgan Leppelmeier are All-Ohio making the awards podium with a 5th place finish in the state championship race.

The varsity baseball team will now travel to Edon on Thursday, May 17 for a 5:00 PM start. (This game was originally schedule for Sat. May 19)

The Pettisville High School Class of 2018 loads the bus for their trip to Kalahari in Sandusky. The seniors will graduate on Sunday, May 27th, at 2:30 PM in the varsity gymnasium.


Varsity softball game is at home tonight: The varsity softball game originally scheduled to be played at Edon tonight has been moved to Pettisville. Edon's field is not playable. The 14U softball game has been moved from Field #2 to Field #1

The high school band plays its final concert song under the direction of Mr. J. Ryan Briley. Mr. Briley will be moving to the Washington DC area at the end of the school year to begin the next phase of his life. We thank Mr. Briley for his two-and-a-half years of service to our students and music program, and wish him the very best.


Join us this evening for the High School Art Show, starting at 6:30 PM in the atrium, followed by the High School Spring Concert with the band and choir beginning at 8:00 PM in the theatre.


Spanish 3 students Zach Basselman, Detric Yoder, Logan Rufenacht, Lindsey Crossgrove, and Rebekah Liechty play the Spanish version of Jeopardy at the Cinco de Mayo celebration for Mrs. Richer's Spanish classes Friday evening in the theatre.


Pettisville senior Gretchen Lee left for Columbus early this morning to participate in her first FFA state officer meeting. Gretchen was elected as the state FFA secretary last week at the 90th Ohio FFA Convention. Congratulations to Gretchen on this outstanding achievement. She will serve all FFA members well.


FCCLA members traveled to the Ronald McDonald House in Toledo on May 5th. They made lunch for 20 residents currently living at the House. It was a rewarding volunteer experience for everyone.




The "senior countdown" that began with 17 days left in the soon-to-be graduates' school year has reached day 9, and is updated daily on a door in the senior hallway. Commencement for the Class of 2018 will take place beginning at 2:30 PM on Sunday, May 27th.


The varsity baseball team defeated Fayette tonight 14 to 2 in the sectional semi-final. The boys move onto to the sectional final at Hicksville on Thursday, May 10 for a 5:00 pm start.

The varsity softball defeated Fayette 6 to 5 tonight in the sectional semi-final. The girls move onto to the sectional final at Tinora on Thursday, May 10 for a 5:00 pm start.

Some NHS members volunteered at the Fish Pantry in Archbold on Saturday. They also donated the socks from the Mario Cart Wii tournament.




Congratulations to the junior high girls' track team for claiming the BBC Track & Field Championship tonight at Montpelier!


Miss Dorosz's English 9 students had a lot of fun as they were instructed to create “melodramatic tableaus” for various scenes from To Kill a Mockingbird. They brought in props and used a green screen to stage the photos.





Zoe received 2nd place in Fashion Construction and will be competing at the National Conference in Atlanta this summer. Three students received their Power of One Degrees. Pettisville FCCLA was recognized as an Ohio Outstanding Chapter.
