At Pettisville Schools, we collect pop tabs all year long for the Ronald McDonald House — because those little circles add up to something big. When recycled, they help RMH raise funds that go straight toward stocking the pantry and providing meals for families staying at Ronald McDonald House while their children receive medical care.
It’s a simple way to show big-hearted Blackbird support. So before you toss that can, twist off the tab and send it our way! Students - you can drop off your tabs to the office anytime throughout the school year. Thank you!
Save the Date: Pettisville Varsity Softball will be hosting a Hope at Bat benefit game next Thursday, Apr. 9th versus Hilltop. Players will wear PINK, playing in honor of someone they know who has been affected by cancer. Fans are invited to wear PINK as well.
Funds collected by both schools leading up to and donated on game day will be combined and sent to the American Cancer Society. If you would like to donate, please drop off donations at the office, designated "Hope at Bat" or Varsity Softball. Donations will also be accepted at the Birdfeeder on the day of the game. Go Birds!
Northwest District 7 Basketball Coaches Association
2026 Retired Coach Award - Charles Nafziger
Coach Nafziger spent 18 seasons as the varsity boys basketball coach at Pettisville High School, compiling an outstanding career record of 212 wins and 171 losses while building a strong tradition of basketball success. During his tenure, Pettisville teams captured multiple league championships, sectional championships, and district titles, highlighted by a district runner-up finish in 1989 and district championships in 1984 and 1998. Coach Nafziger’s impact on basketball extended well beyond the varsity level. Over the years he served as an 8th grade coach, junior varsity coach, and varsity head coach, and later returned to continue serving Pettisville athletics by coaching 7th grade girls basketball and junior varsity girls basketball, demonstrating a lifelong commitment to mentoring student-athletes.
His accomplishments have been recognized with numerous honors, including Defiance College Coach of the Year, induction into the Defiance College Hall of Fame and selection as a North/South All-Star Game coach. Coach Nafziger is a 1969 graduate of Pettisville High School and earned his Bachelor of Science degree from Defiance College in 1973. He spent many years as a math teacher at Pettisville High School, dedicating his career to both education and athletics. He and his wife Laura are the proud parents of Pam and Stephanie, and their family now includes five grandchildren and one great-grandchild. District 7 extends its sincere appreciation and gratitude to Coach Nafziger for his decades of dedication, leadership, and contributions to the game of basketball in Northwest Ohio.
