Friday - Oct. 21 - 

Students and staff, next week is Together Pettisville Week! Monday is mustache Monday, Tuesday is Hawaiian Day, Wednesday is Camo Day, and Thursday is Costume Day. Students may wear costumes to school on Thursday, as long as they are school appropriate. No weapons of any kind, gore, or masks and/or facial coverings are permitted. 

Attention all Juniors and Seniors eligible for Pettisville’s Chapter of the National Honor Society. The deadline to apply is today. Please see Mr. Switzer if you have any questions.

Attention Freshmen:  Class ring orders can be placed this Thursday October 27th, before school in the cafeteria. You will need to bring your order form and your deposit.  Also, don't forget when you order a class ring you will receive a free 2026 companion ring and your choice of an adidas backpack,wireless earbuds, softshell jacket or performance hoodie.

Attention Seniors: Graduation order day is this Thursday October 27th, before school in the cafeteria.  Don't forget to bring your order form and your down payment.  Extra ordering packets are available in the main office.

Come see your friends onstage in the hilarious comedy, “Clockwork” this weekend and find out who is “systematically exterminating the Dunwoody clan.” Show times are 7:30pm Friday, 7:30pm Saturday, and 2:30pm Sunday.  Tickets are $5 for students and $6 for adults and will be available at the door.

Attention class officers: There will be a class officer photo for the yearbook today at 11:45. Meet by the office. Please dress nicely for the photo.

Results from last night:  The varsity volleyball team lost in the sectional semi-final vs. Ayersville 15-25, 22-25, 23-25. The girls finished the season 14-8 and 6-1 in the BBC finishing as the conference runner-up.  

Here are tomorrow’s events: The cross country teams will compete at the District Meet at Leaders Farm’s Scream Acres.  The boys will run at 9:00 AM and the girls will run at 11:10 AM. The soccer team will play in the sectional final at Ottawa Hills at 12:00 noon.

JV and varsity girls basketball practice will start tomorrow, Friday, October 2, from 3:15-5:00 in the JH gym.

Congratulations to the soccer team for their sectional semi-final win over Eastwood last night by a score of 2 to 0.  Landon Graffice scored twice for the Blackbirds. The soccer team will now play in the sectional final at Ottawa Hills on Saturday, October 22, starting at 12:00 noon.

Wednesday, Oct. 19 - 

Just a reminder to all students regarding your chromebook. We are seeing a slight spike in screen cracks/breaks due to closing the lid with earbuds, sylus, or other items on the keyboard. This has been a common mistake, so please use extra caution when closing your chromebook lid. Thank you!

This is national School Bus Safety Week. Just a reminder:  Yellow flashing lights indicate a bus is preparing to stop to load or unload children. Motorists should slow down and prepare to stop their vehicles.  Red flashing lights and extended stop arms indicate a bus has stopped and children are getting on or off.  Motorists must stop their cars and wait until the red lights stop flashing, the extended stop-arm is withdrawn, and the bus begins moving before they can start driving again.

Last Thursday at the FFA District One dairy cattle contest Pettisville placed 10th. Our top four scores were Creighton Aeschliman, Olivia Miller, Leah Beck and Caitie Girdham.

Last night at the Fulton County trapshoot Ben Boger hit the most clay pigeons for our team which included Jayden Bleikamp, Tyler Layton and Karter Zachrich.

The FFA State Urban Soils contest results were finalized and Pettisville placed 37th with Courtney Wiemken  having our best score followed by Ava Genter and Olivia Beck.

Monday, Oct. 17 - 

There will be a senior class meeting today at 1:30 and a freshman class meeting at 2:00. There will be an announcement to release students to the cafeteria. Each meeting will last for approximately 20 minutes.

Results from Saturday BBC Cross Country Championships at Fayette:  Congratulations to the varsity girls as BBC Champions! Kendall Sears finished in 1st place earning BBC Runner-of-the-Year Honors. Madison Remington was also 1st Team finishing in 5th.  Earning 2nd Team BBC:  Renee Hoylman - 8th place, Elise Hoylman - 9th place, Sophie Sterken -10th place, Ella Richer - 13th place. Earning Honorable-Mention BBC:  Leah Roth - 16th, Emily VanDenBerghe - 17th.  The varsity boys were BBC Runner-up. Earning 1st Team BBC: Zach McWatters - 3rd, Jack Leppelmeier - 4th.  Earning 2nd Team BBC: Luke VanDenBerghe -12th, Caden Bishop - 13th. Earning Honorable-Mention BBC: Kyle Galvin - 16th, Carlos Bowers - 17th. 

Congratulations to the JH girls as BBC Champions! Ashalyn Rice - 1st, Keren Maldonado - 3rd. The JH boys were BBC Runner-up! Gavin Knierim - 2nd, Alex Galvin - 3rd, Carson Andres - 13th, Tyler Wilburn - 15th, Sam Hartman - 20th, Ryan Bishop - 24th, Camden Hogrefe - 25th. 

Results from the JH Volleyball Tournament at Edon: The 7th grade team won in 2 over Hilltop in the quarter finals 25-6, 25-13. Then in the semi-finals they lost to North Central in 2 sets 8-25, 17-25.  The 8th grade team lost in the quarter-finals to Montpelier in 2 sets 18-25, 24-26. 

There will be junior high boys basketball open gym after school today until 5:00 in the JH Gym

There will be high school boys basketball open gym from 6:30 to 8:00 tonight in the varsity gym.

There will be open gym tonight for girls in grades 5-12 from 6:30-8 in the JH gym.
