Friday, Oct., 7 - 

Today is a morning activity period for class meetings. Check with your staff advisor for location of meeting if you are unsure of where to go. 

Attention all Juniors and Seniors interested in joining Pettisville’s Chapter of the National Honor Society.  The application window to apply for membership is now open. The deadline to apply is Friday, October 21st.  If you are currently eligible to apply, an application form has been shared to your email.  Please see Mr. Switzer if you have any questions. 

Locker rooms will be locked by 4:30 except the Varsity girls locker room which will be locked after their practice is over.

The varsity golf team wrapped up their season at the District Golf Tournament at Stone Ridge finishing in 9th place with a score of 355. The Blackbirds finish the season as Co-BBC Champions and a top ten district team.  Congratulations!

The varsity and JV volleyball teams picked up league wins at Stryker last night. The varsity won in 5 sets 19-25, 25-16, 25-17, 21-25, 15-12. The JV won in 3 sets 25-15, 18-25, 27-25. 

The freshman volleyball team lost to Wauseon in 3 sets 18-25, 25-13, 11-25. The JH volleyball teams split with Stryker. The 7th grade team won in 2 sets 25-5, 25-2. The 8th grade team lost in 2 sets 24-26, 14-25.

Last evening, the varsity soccer team lost to Miller City 2 to 0. The JV soccer team played to a 1 to 1 tie.  Keegan Wyse scored for the Blackbirds.


Thursday, Oct. 6 - 

Attention High Schoolers:  Mr. Wagner has put together a Dodgeball team for Friday that will be playing the winner of the High School division.  He says they plan to DOMINATE.  If your team is not signed up and wants a shot at Mr. Wagner’s team, see Mr. Poulson today!


Wednesday, Oct. 5 - 

The Pumpkinfest, sponsored by the Pettisville FFA Alumni and Friends group, is Friday, Oct. 7th. Grades 4-7 can sign up for the 3 on 3 basketball contest using the sign-up sheets located in the office, or online or in Mr. Poulson’s room. Grades 4-12 can sign up for the 6 on 6 dodgeball tournament using the same sign up sheets, or online, or in Mr. Poulson’s room. Dodgeball is co-ed teams with no more than 4 boys on a team.  There are no substitutes. The cost is $5/person. The prizes are t-shirts. Sign up and pay by 3:15 on Wednesday, Oct. 5.

In BBC action last evening, the high school volleyball teams made it a clean sweep over Montpelier. The varsity team won in 3 sets 25-11, 25-9, 25-22. The JV team won in 2 sets 25-15, 25-16. The freshman won 21-25, 28-26, 25-20. The 7th grade team lost at Montpelier in 2 sets 8-25, 16-25. The 8th grade team lost in 3 sets 23-25, 25-16, 23-25.

The JH golf team lost to Archbold last evening, 179 to 180 at Ironwood.

One pint of blood can save up to three lives.  Your donation is greatly needed. There is still time to sign up to give blood this coming Wednesday, October 5. Invite family and neighbors to sign up, as well. To sign up you must be 16 or older and at least 110 pounds. For more information and to sign up to donate, find Keegan Wyse, Bella Strauss, Mrs. Richer, Mr. Beck or any other student council member. Thank you for your consideration!

The JH golf team won the jamboree at Riverside greens last evening with a score of 181 to NC’s and Montpelier’s 188 and Fayette’s 208.

Results from Pettisville Varsity at Archbold Spiketacular on Saturday. Pettisville defeated Otsego in 2 sets: 25-18, 25-18. Lost to Archbold in 3 sets: 15-25, 26-24,18-25. Lost to Edgerton in 2 sets: 18-25, 18-25.  JV Volleyball Results from Archbold: Pettisville JV defeated Hilltop in 3 sets: 19-25, 27-25, 25-14. Defeated Edgerton in 2 sets: 25-14, 25-23. Lost to Paulding in 3 sets: 20-25, 25-16, 20-25.

Congratulations to the varsity girls cross country team for claiming the Edgerton Invite Title on Saturday.  2nd - Kendall Sears, 11th - Grace Remington, 15th - Madison Remington, 17th - Elise Hoylman, 22nd - Renee Hoylman, 26th - Sophie Sterken, 29th - Ella Richer. The varsity boys finished in 4th place. 4th - Jack Leppelmeier, 8th - Zach McWatters, 27th - Luke VanDenBerghe, 34th - Caden Bishop, 43rd - Sean Adkins, 49th - Kyle Galvin, 54th - Carlos Bowers.

The JH boys finished in 3rd place on Saturday. Gavin Knierim was the individual champion, 6th - Alex Galvin, 36th - Carson Andres, 41st - Tyler Wilburn, 50th - Ryan Bishop, 57th - Camden Hogrefe.  JH Girls: 5th - Ashalyn Rice, 7th - Keren Maldonado.

There will be girls’ basketball open gym tonight from 6:30-8 for girls in grades 5-12.
