Friday, March 11 - 

Morning activity period will be for: FFA – meet in Mr. Poulson’s room.  Student Council – meet in the theatre.

The junior high quiz team won both the junior varsity and varsity tournaments yesterday at the ESC. The varsity team finished a perfect 4-0. Top scorers were Genevieve Heising, Caroline Sterken, and Ryan Bishop. The junior varsity team finished 3-1. Top scorers were Caleb Lako and Kayden Dominique. Congratulations to all quizzers on an undefeated season!

Thursday, March 10 - 

There will be an informational meeting for New Orleans travelers during lunch today. Please bring your lunch to the band room. We will discuss trip details and try to answer any questions you have.

Thank you to student council for a huge day yesterday. It took a lot of planning and effort to pull off a successful blood drive supporting the Red Cross. That was an outstanding service project that was well-organized and well run. Another special thank you to student council for holding the junior high dance during 7th and 8th periods. That was a very fun time for our 7th and 8th graders, and they had an awesome time. Just a GREAT day yesterday, Student Council. Thank you!!!!

Wednesday, March 9 -

Last night the JV and varsity high school quiz teams wrapped up their NBAL regular season with wins over Defiance. The JV team won 195-115. Sophie Sterken was high scorer with 40 points. The JV team also finished the season undefeated. The varsity team won 260-80 and Lyla Heising was high scorer with 50 points.

Today for FCA, girls should go to Ms. Dorosz’s room and boys should go to the study hall. We will be having 2 guest speakers.  Everyone is invited to come. We hope to see you there!

Tuesday, March 8 - 

Pettisville FFA had members compete in 4 events last Wednesday.  Caitlyn Girdham and Quinn Stickley competed in Animal Management.  They placed 9th. Mina Wesche and Savannah Smith competed in Floriculture. They placed 10th.  Ben Boger, Tyler Layton, and Justin Sierra competed in Outdoor Power. They placed 5th. Ben place 6th individually. Sophie Sterken, Clara Damman, Luke Van Den Berghe, and Morgan Blosser competed in Veterinary Science. They placed 2nd. Sophie placed 3rd individually.

The Student Council Red Cross blood drive is tomorrow! Here are a few reminders for donors: Drink lots of fluids today in preparation for donation. Eat breakfast before coming to school. Some chips or an energy drink doesn’t count! Bring your photo ID and a mask to the drive, and if you’re 16 years old, bring the signed parental permission form. Anyone volunteering or donating needs to have a mask. We hope to save up to 90 lives at our drive tomorrow! Thank you so much for your life-saving donation! 

Attention Student Council members: Please bring your lunch and come to the band room today to make sure all bases are covered for tomorrow’s big work day! You should have spoken with your teachers about missing class and how to make up work. 

Tomorrow is the Junior High dance from 1:30-3:00 in the cafeteria. Student Council members will have snacks, games and of course dance music ready for your entertainment.  Students who wish to change clothes are welcome to do so after lunch, after PE, or right at 1:30 and then come to the dance.

Monday, March 7 - 

Last Friday, Delana Damman and Ella Richer competed in the District 1 FFA AgriScience Fair virtually. Delana tied for 1st place in the Food Science category. Ella placed 1st in the Plant Science category. Congratulations to both these ladies!

Congratulations to Genevieve Heising who made it past the preliminary online round of the regional spelling bee and has qualified for The Blade’s 2022 Northwest Ohio Championship Spelling Bee. She will compete on March 19. Good luck to her!

Over the weekend, the high school quiz team hosted the 5th annual PettiWarz quiz tournament. After 9 rounds of play, the Pettisville A team was tied for first with Findlay and entered a championship 10th round. They won that round 210-170 and were named tournament champs – this is the first time a Pettisville team has won the tournament. The B team finished as consolation bracket runners up and the D team finished tied for 10th and the C team 12th. Lyla Heising was named a tournament all-star as the 3rd highest individual scorer. Congratulations to all quizzers!
