Friday, March 4 - 

All students in grades 7-12 are reminded to come to the theatre at the end of period 1. Please do not bring your books or chromebooks. Junior high students should sit in the choir chairs on the lower level. Please reserve the first row of the raised seats for the seniors. Please use excellent concert etiquette.

The Red Cross blood drive is next Wednesday, March 9.  You must be at least 16 years of age to donate.  During the month of March, donors can enter to win two tickets to Major League Baseball’s All-Star game in California, and are eligible for a gift card to Fanatics after completion of donation, courtesy of the Red Cross.  You’ll also receive a candy bar courtesy of the student council on the day you donate.  Please bring your photo ID and a mask to the drive. Anyone volunteering or donating needs to have a mask. 

The junior high quiz team defeated Delta yesterday by a score of 38-20. Top scorers were Macy Hoylman with 10 points and Caroline Sterken and Evie Heising with 6 points each. The quiz team finished the season with a perfect 6-0 record, and will now move on to the Fulton County tournament to be held at the ESC next Thursday. Congratulations to the quiz team on a great season!

With this morning’s Activity Period being used for the Vox Profundi concert, class meetings will be held this afternoon during an afternoon Activity Period. The following rooms will be used for class meetings this afternoon, so please pay close attention to the changes.

Seniors – will meet in Room 150 (health room)

Juniors – will meet in the Theatre

Sophomores – will meet in Room 230 (next to the study hall)

Freshmen – will meet in the Study Hall

8th Grade – will meet in Room 211 (Mrs. Litogot’s room)

The varsity quiz team defeated Fayette last night 270-10. Lyla Heising and Sam Myers each had 40 points.

Next Wednesday, March 9, the junior high dance will be held in the cafeteria from 1:30-3:00. Thank you to Mr. Lane and teachers for accommodating the schedule with winter weather and other issues to work around. Without their support and creative problem-solving, the dance would have been canceled completely. Student Council members have been working hard to make the afternoon a success!  7th and 8th graders, please come enjoy time with friends at this unique event!

Tuesday, Mar. 1 - 

The JH quiz team improved their record to 5-0 on the season with a 43-31 win over Evergreen yesterday evening.  Top scorers were Macy Hoylman with 12 points and Caroline Sterken with 11 points.

JH baseball players: There will be an open cage tonight and Thursday night from 7:00-8:00 in the JH gym.

The library will be closed today until 1:00.

Yesterday in NBAL play, the varsity quiz team defeated Holgate 245-0. Lyla Heising led scorers with a season and career high of 110 points.

Monday, Feb. 28 - 

The boys’ basketball team lost a close one in double overtime in the sectional final to Stryker 50-54. The Blackbirds end the season with 12 wins and 11 losses. The boys’ basketball team would like to thank our great student section and community for the tremendous support all season long. The enthusiasm and atmosphere created is what makes high school sports great. Thank you!

The NWO Regional Science and Engineering Fair was this past Saturday at NSCC. The 6 students did an OUTSTANDING job representing our school. Results:

*1st place Animal Science and Superior rating – Delana Damman

*1st place Environmental Science and Superior rating – Ashlynn Lugbill

*1st place Medicine & Health and Superior rating – Kelly Wyse

*1st place Plant Science and Excellent rating – Ella Richer

*3rd place Microbiology and Superior rating – Susan Ringler

*Honorable Mention Microbiology and Excellent rating – Amanda Grimm

The 6 students collectively won 10 sponsored awards which included gifts and/or cash prizes. 

Selected as one of nine top high school projects for Super Judging was Kelly Wyse and Delana Damman. Kelly placed 2nd in Super Judging and will now present her research at the International Science & Engineering Fair in Atlanta, GA in May.
