If you are interested in joining the journalism staff for next year, be sure to pick up an application from Ms. Dorosz or Mrs. Dadisman. Applications are due this Friday.

The boys’ basketball picked up the sectional semi-final victory over Fayette last night 46 to 35. The boys’ basketball team will play Stryker on Friday at Napoleon High School in the OHSAA Sectional Finals starting at 7:30 pm. This is the second game of the evening. 

It is NOT split session.  Your ticket is good for both games. Antwerp vs. Montpelier is the first game of the evening starting at 5:30 pm. The doors open at 4:30 pm.  The Pettisville/Stryker game will not start before 7:30 pm. The Pettisville seating section will be same as Wednesday, on the west side of the gym across from the team benches. Tickets can ONLY be purchased online at ohsaa.org/tickets. All tickets are $8 until 4:30 pm on game day.  After 4:30 pm on game day the ticket price increases to $10 per ticket.

Pettisville Student Council is hosting the spring blood drive on Wednesday, March 9. Please see a student council member at lunch to sign up in advance, or you may visit redcross.org and search for the Pettisville blood drive. The blood drive ends before 8th period, so if you can’t sign up for a time during your study hall, please still consider donating during another period. You must be at least 16 years of age to donate. Students are responsible for discussing their absence with their teachers and getting homework in advance.

If anyone is interested in helping with lights and sound for the spring musical, please see Mr. Beck.

The Pettisville Boys Basketball team will play Fayette tomorrow, Wednesday, February 23, at 5:30 pm at Napoleon High School in the OHSAA Sectional Semi-finals.  This is the first game of the evening. The Junior High dance has been rescheduled for March 9 at 1:30 pm until end of school day. This event is sponsored by Student Council. We hope to bring a bright spot to your semester!

In last night’s HS quiz match against Evergreen, the varsity team was defeated 215-305. Lyla Heising was high scorer with 65 points. The JV team finished their regular NBAL season with an undefeated record after securing the win 195-100 and Sophie Sterken was high scorer with 40 points.

Tuesday, Feb. 22 - 

Due to last Friday’s closing, we will operate on the afternoon activity period schedule today for FCCLA and Quiz Team.  FCCLA will meeting in Mrs. Litogot’s room. Quiz will meet in the study hall. Everyone else will meet in homerooms.

In last Wednesday’s high school quiz match against Clay High School, the varsity team won 350-175 with Lyla Heising scoring 65 points and Sam Myers closely behind with 55. The JV team won 295-25 and Kate Roth led scorers with 70 points.

Attention High School Health students:  You are reminded to bring your chromebooks to class today.

This is National FFA Week. The over 700,000 FFA students country wide compete in Career Development Events throughout the year.  Ohio FFA offers more than 40 events and 3 were taken on-line last week.

The Farm and Agri Business Management team placed 6th in the state and 1st in District 1. Our top 4 scorers were:  Harley Crossgrove, Carson Bennett, Clara Damman and Karsen Pursel. Harley and Carson Bennett, were 1st and 2nd in the District. The Greenhand Quiz was taken by AFNR students and the team place 36th in the state and 4th in the District. Our top 4 scorers were: Caden Bishop, Olivia Miller, Noelle Fox and Kelsey Bennett. The test part of the Outdoor Power event was taken and will be added to the hands on portion next week. The test was taken by Ben Boger, Tyler Layton, Jayden Bleikamp and Justin Sierra.  Ben had the best test score in the District.
