Auditions are being held on Monday and Wednesday, Dec. 6 and 8, for the spring musical theatre production of Little Women. Any student in grades 9-12 is eligible to audition. Junior high students may audition at a later date. Please prepare a song of your choice and be prepared to read from the script. Sign up for an audition time on the sheet posted outside the theatre doors. If none of the time slots work for you, we will be happy to schedule an alternate time. This message is for all freshmen, seniors, and staff: Next Wednesday, Dec. 1st, the annual cholesterol screening will take place for freshmen and seniors. Staff members can have their cholesterol screened for only $5. Money raised will help the Fulton County Heart Radiothon. The screening for freshmen and seniors will take place during the morning. Staff members can be screened before school or during the morning starting at 7:30am. All freshmen and seniors are encouraged to get their cholesterol screened, as high cholesterol is a health risk. Freshmen and seniors will receive a form next Monday when you return from Thanksgiving break. The form will be handed out in English 9 or American Government class and will need a parent signature if you are under 18 years old. The form will need to be completed prior to Wednesday’s screening. There will be reminder announcements next week.

The FFA Parliamentary Procedure team placed 2nd in Fulton County last Thursday and will advance to District competition next week. They performed a mock meeting and took a test. The chair was Kasen Pursel, secretary Luke VanDenBerghe and members Carson Bennett, Clara Damman, Nate Rupp and Leah Beck with alternates Emma Salmi and Sam Haley.

Results from over the weekend: On Friday, the JV and varsity girls’ team traveled to Stryker. The JV team won 22 to 20 and the varsity team was defeated 47 to 28. On Saturday, the host Blackbirds were victorious in both games over the visiting Edgerton Bulldogs. The JV team defeated Edgerton 38 to 27 and the varsity team won 45 to 39. The JV and varsity teams are back in action tomorrow night at Hilltop.
This is a reminder that 9th grade, JV, and varsity boys’ basketball practice is after school today.
