Introducing Pettisville’s new Superintendent, Josh Clark.

Here’s what you probably already know about me:

I am originally from Archbold where I was born and raised, and graduated from Archbold High School in 2003. I earned my undergraduate degree in 2007 (Secondary English Education)  from Huntington University, and have gone on to earn my Masters degree from Bowling Green State University with a focus in Administration and Supervision. I also went on to obtain my superintendent licence from Bowling Green State University.

I have had many rich educational career experiences that led me to Pettisville, first as a high school English teacher at Wabash High School (IN), Edgerton High School, and Tinora High School.  I then assumed the high school principalship at Evergreen High School, before eventually becoming the Director of Curriculum, Instruction, and Professional Development at the Northwest Ohio Educational Service Center.

I ascribe to the idea that positive school culture fosters collaboration, communication, and excitement for educational and personal growth opportunities for both students and staff. With support from top-tier educators, and a rigorous curriculum, we are able to provide Pettisville students with an unrivaled educational experience.

As a lifelong resident of Northwest Ohio, I am fully aware of the Pettisville Local School District’s long-standing commitment to excellence, and to building positive relationships within the community.   It is that sense of family and community that drew me to Pettisville, and I am honored to be able to be the next superintendent at Pettisville Local Schools!  I look forward to meeting all of you!

Here’s a little bit about my family
:
I have been married to my wife, Cindy, for 13 years, and we have been blessed with three wonderful children. Our oldest son, Landon, will be a fourth grader in the fall and loves baseball. Our middle daughter, Lydia, will be a second grader, and is looking forward to being a Blackbird and to taking trips to Sunday’s Market. Our youngest daughter, Lynley, is two years old and loves to upend the house and rock her doll babies. We love to go on road trips, and have adopted Texas as one of our favorite destinations.  We are Buckeyes through and through, and we love to watch the Houston Astros make a run for the pennant.

Here’s what you probably don’t know about me
:

Favorite Food: Tacos      Least Favorite Food: Stuffing

Strange But True: In college, I was a pitcher and gave up a grand slam that hit my car in the parking lot. Talk about insult plus injury!

In My Spare Time: I’ve written seven novels for young adults, and one suspense novel for adults.

Fun Pettisville Fact: My step-great grandfather was Virgil Sunday of Sunday’s Market. My mom grew up stocking shelves, sweeping floors, and trying to see how fast she and her siblings could run around the building.

Here’s what you can count on:
Pettisville Local Schools is a district rich with tradition, but with an eye toward the future. You can count on me to embrace everything that makes Pettisville so special, and to collaboratively cast a vision for today and beyond. For me, it is imperative to keep family and community at the forefront of all we do, and to create an atmosphere that sparks curiosity and excitement for all learners. In all things, we must remember our main objective is to educate, nurture, and to create safe and meaningful experiences for our students. At the end of the day, my role as superintendent is to find opportunities to serve, to empathize, and to make a difference.
