Announcements - Week of 9/14/2020

Friday, Sept. 18 - 

Today’s Activity Period will be for FCCLA – meet in the theatre and Quiz Team – meet in the study hall.  All other students should report to their homerooms.  Those attending the FCCLA meeting need to bring a pencil with them.

Congratulations to the JV and varsity volleyball teams for their victories over Montpelier.  The JV won in two sets 25-15 and 25-12.  The varsity won in four sets 25-17, 26-24, 20-25, and 27-25. The 7th and 8th grade volleyball teams split with Montpelier.  The 7th grade team won in 2 sets and the 8th grade lost in two sets.

Congratulations to the varsity golf team for their win over Stryker by a score of 149 to 181.  The team score of 149 is a new school record.  Scores: Max Leppelmeier 31 – a new school record, Tommy McWatters 36, Caleb Nafziger 40, and Josh Horning 42.

The cross country teams competed a Hilltop last night.  Top finishers:

Varsity Girls - Elise Hoylman 1st place

Varsity Boys - Zach McWatters 1st place

Junior High Girls - Kendall Sears 1st place

Junior High Boys – Carlos Bowers 1st place

The junior high soccer team lost to Emmanuel Christian 2 to 1. Rylan Warner scored for Pettisville.

Thursday, Sept. 17 - 

Juniors who signed up to help create ideas for prom themes are to meet during lunch in Mrs. Meller’s science classroom today.

Attention Freshmen:  Class ring orders can be placed tomorrow, Sept. 18th before school in the cafeteria.  You will need to bring your order form and your deposit.  Extra ordering packets are available in the office. Also, don’t forget when you order a class ring, you will receive a free companion ring and your choice of a free Adidas backpack, softshell jacket, or wireless earbuds.

Attention Seniors:  Graduation order day is tomorrow, Sept. 18th before school in the cafeteria.  Don’t forget to bring your order form and your down payment.  Extra ordering packets are available in the office.

Girls in grades 9-12 who are trying out for cheerleading need to sign up in Final Forms if you have not already done so. A parent needs to log into Final Forms and select cheerleading. Sign-ups close tomorrow, Friday, Sept. 18.

The varsity golf team picked up the BBC win at North Central last evening with a score of 156 to 172.  Tommy McWatters and Max Leppelmeier co-medalists each with a 35, Caleb Nafziger 42, Levi Myers 44.  The junior high golf team won the BBC Jamboree at North Central with a score 187 over Hilltop, Montpelier, and Stryker.

Tuesday, Sept. 15 -

Results from last night:

The 7th and 8th grade volleyball teams split with Delta.  The 7th grade team won in two sets 25-16 and 25-9.  The 8th grade lost in two sets. The JV and varsity volleyball teams were defeated last night at Ayersville.

The JH cross country teams competed at the Archbold Invitational.  Top finishers: Kendall Sears 8th place, Jack Leppelmeier 1st place, Carlos Bowers 5th place, and Caden Bishop 5th place.

The JV soccer team lost on the road at Swanton 4 to 0.

Monday, Sept. 14 - 

The varsity boys’ golf team claimed the title at the Stryker Invitational with a team score of 304. Max Leppelmeier was co-medalist with a 68, Tommy McWatters 76, Levi Myers 80, and Caleb Nafziger 80.

The varsity girls’ cross country team finished 4th at the Freedom Invite at Leaders Farms. Elise Hoylman 19th, Renee Hoylman 27th, Sophie Sterken 30th, Kelly Wyse 36th, and Taylor Balser 37th.  Top finisher for the varsity boys was Zach McWatters in 30th.

The JV soccer start time tonight at Swanton has been moved to 5:15pm. The bus will now depart at 4:00pm.

The only beverage students are permitted to bring into school is water.
