Announcements - Week of 1-27-2020

Friday, Jan. 31 - 

First semester grade cards will be handed out this afternoon during Activity Period. If you are in NHS or FCCLA, please be sure to quickly stop into your homeroom on the way to your meeting.

High school students, please check your email to complete the homecoming dance registration. You will be able to also register a guest, but please do so before Friday, Feb. 7. Payment is accepted at the door ($5) or in advance ($4) during lunch with a student council member. Four County students should check their Pettisville email for the invitation link. If they would like to pay in advance, they may send their payment to the school office, attention student council dance.

Valentine’s Day is approaching and hopefully you are thinking about giving special gifts to the people you care about and love. Stop by the atrium and see what you can send to your Valentine. You can purchase the following: Gerber Daisies - $6; Carnations - $3.50; Crush Pop Cans - $1.  You can send a message with your gift. FCCLA will have a table in the atrium during lunch today and each day until Feb. 12th. Find out the colors of flowers when you stop by the table. Pick up your order forms, fill them out, and return them with the correct amount of money for your order. All orders will be delivered on February 14th. Pre-sale tickets for the boys’ basketball game at Ayersville are on sale in the office today from 8:00-4:00.  Pre-sale ticket prices are $6 for adults and $4 for students.  All tickets at the door are $6.

Last night 6 members of the FFA competed in the county public speaking contests. Luke VanDenBerghe and Clark Bartoe placed 3rd and 4th in the Creed Contest. Clara Damman place 1st and Emma Salmi placed 3rd in the Beginning Prepared Contest. Kearsten Zuver placed 3rd in the Extemperaneous Contest. Ava Hoylman placed 1st in Advanced Prepared Contest. Clara and Ava will compete in the District Contests on Feb. 10th held here at Pettisville.

Afternoon Activity Period will be for NHS – meet in the computer lab; FCCLA – meet in Mrs. Bacon’s room. Mrs. Bacon’s homeroom should go to Mrs. Richer’s room.

Thursday, Jan. 30 - 

Attention members of the Homecoming Court: Please remember to come to the atrium today by 11:10 for the Homecoming Court photo. 

Evaluation Pettisville students and graduates submitted their FFA work with the following results:  All three officer books received perfect scores and Gold Ratings. Andrew Hulbert tied for 1st place with his Reporter’s Scrapbook, Kearsten Zuver placed 4th with the Secretary’s Book, and Carson Bennett placed 1st with the Treasurer’s Book.  Advancing to state evaluation were: Ava Hoylman and Matt Rupp with state degree applications, Jessie McWatters with Agriscience Research Animal Systems and Star in Agriscience applications, and Elizabeth Beck and Madeleine Wixom with proficiency applications.  Submitting the American Degree application were Gretchen Lee, Brandi Schnitkey, Madeleine Wixom and Elizabeth Beck. Congratulations to these FFA members!

Wednesday, Jan. 29 - 

Yesterday the high school quiz team finished the Fulton County Tournament undefeated, making them 3-peat champions. They won the championship match against Wauseon with the most points scored by a Pettisville team ever in this format – 60-23. Congratulations to them.

Attention members of the Homecoming Court: The Buckeye will be here at 11:10 on Thursday to take a photo of the homecoming court. Please be in the atrium before 11:10. Also, plan to dress nicely. Men, dress pants and a shirt and tie are appropriate. Please see Mrs. Richer or Mr. Beck if you have questions.

This is a reminder to all that since we had an exam week in January, we will operate 2 Afternoon Activity Periods this week.  Thursday’s afternoon activity period will be for Spanish Club. Friday’s afternoon activity period will be for NHS and FCCLA.
