On May 4-5, 2023, 16 Pettisville FFA members traveled to Columbus for the 95th Ohio
FFA State Convention. They attended all 5 general sessions. Each session had a different
keynote speaker, various awards were presented, and accomplishments from the past year
were recognized. Along with the sessions, members attended the career show, where various
industries, businesses, and colleges were represented. They also attended The Ohio State
University’s Bug Tour and Bee Lab, as well as a leadership workshop led by National FFA
Western Region Vice President Ryan Williamson.

FFA member Lily Wiemken said that her favorite part of convention was the people. “I liked getting closer with our chapter and meeting new people from other chapters!” she said. Lily
also said that she liked the Leadership Workshop with the National Officer. “He (Ryan) talked a
lot about being beneficial to our communities, which was important because our community has given so much to us.”
