8U Baseball & Softball and Tee Ball Information - April 2025
The season is approaching! Our shipment of uniforms just came in and this year we will be sending home uniforms with your children rather than a uniform pick up night. Each player will receive a black jersey and a hat. Your child will be receiving the jersey size that you indicated on the registration form. Keep an eye out in your child's backpack in the next several days for the uniform.
**If your child is homeschooled or does not attend Pettisville schools, Uniforms will be available for pickup in our front office during business hours.
Other Equipment Needed:
8u - Black Batting Helmet (we will have a team set if you do not purchase it this year. They will be required to have their own helmet in 10u)
8u - This year our 8u baseball and softball teams will be wearing grey baseball/softball pants, black socks, and a black belt. These items can be worn for years to come at each grade level.
Tee Ball - Tee ball players can still wear shorts :)
Bats - Feel free to buy your child a bat but this is not required. We will have team bats
Glove - All players should have their own glove.
As in years past, our tee ball and minor league (8u) teams will be playing each Friday night in the month of June. In addition to these typical games we are in the works of scheduling just a couple games with other schools for our 2nd grade players, both girls and boys. This will give them a taste of what 10u ball will be like next summer. In addition to Friday night games you can expect to have an additional practice throughout the week in the month of June. Once we secure our coaches, we will communicate a more detailed schedule.
A picture day is not yet on the calendar and that will also be communicated once it is scheduled.
Pettisville Community Recreation provides a healthy environment for the youth of our communities. Our focus is to encourage participation, develop character, promote teamwork, and advocate community pride. We strive to provide quality instruction in the development of baseball/softball skills, sportsmanship, competitiveness and fair play.
