Announcements - Week of 8/31/2020

Friday, Sept. 4 - 

Today is yearbook distribution day! If you forgot to order your 2019-2020 yearbook, Ms. Dorosz still has some available for $50. Today, all students will also receive order forms for the 2020-2021 yearbook which is available for purchase for just $40 until November 6 when the price increases. Extra order forms will be in the office, and yearbooks can also be purchased online at jostensyearbooks.com.

Activity Period this morning will be for Class Meetings. 7th and 8th graders will meet in your homerooms.  Freshmen will meet in the study hall; Sophomores meet in the JH gym; Juniors will meet in the varsity gym; Seniors will meet in the band room.  Everyone should bring their chromebooks to vote during class meetings.

The varsity golf team picked up the BBC road win last night at Montpelier by a score of 153 to 170.  Tommy McWatters 33, Max Leppelmeier 34, Levi Myers 42, Josh Horning and Jake King 44.

The 7th grade volleyball team won over Fayette in 2 sets.

The varsity soccer team was defeated by MVCD 3-1.  Blake Eyer scored for the Blackbirds.  The JV soccer team defeated MVCD by a score of 1-0. Jaret Beck scored on a penalty kick that was awarded to Chase Wilkie.  Congratulations on the victory.

Wednesday, Sept. 2 - 

If you are interested in being an FCCLA officer this year, please sign up by Sept. 4 in Mrs. Litogot’s Family and Consumer Science room before school, during lunch, between classes or at the end of the day. We will be voting in an activity period in September. 

This is a reminder that student government applications are due by 3:10 on Thursday. The application was emailed to you as a Google form on Monday, Aug. 24.

This is a reminder to all teachers to go over procedures for emergency evacuations, school safety, and severe weather. The district will be running drills at scheduled times throughout the school year.

Monday the National FFA announced finalists for AgriScience Fair and Proficiency areas.  Olivia Rossman and Delana Damman will compete in the Plant Systems Team division for their age group. Jessie McWatters and Madeleine Wixom are both final 4 finalists in their Proficiency area and will compete to be the National FFA winner.  Jessie is in Animal Science Research and Madeleine is in Wildlife Management.

The varsity soccer team defeated Toledo Christian last night 3-0. This is the first conference win in school history.  The JV soccer team lost 2-1.

The varsity golf team picked up the BBC win over Hilltop 162 to 186. 

The varsity and JV volleyball teams lost to visiting North Central.  The 7th and 8th grade volleyball teams secured BBC wins over North Central in straight sets.

Tuesday, Sept. 1 -

The junior high golf team won the BBC Jamboree at Ironwood with a score 194 to Hilltop’s 235, Stryker’s 236 and Montpelier’s 245.

Monday, Aug. 31 -

Congratulations to the varsity soccer team for their 3-0 victory over Archbold. Zakkai Kaufman scored 2 goals and Harley Crossgrove scored 1. The JH soccer team was defeated 2-0.

The cross country teams competed in the Early Bird Invite at Defiance. Elise Hoylman led the varsity girls in 34th place, Zach McWatters led the varsity boys in 35th place, Kendall Sears finished in 2nd place in the JH girls’ race, and Jack Leppelmeier finished in 3rd place in the JH boys’ race.

Good luck to the JV and Varsity volleyball teams and the JH golf team tonight.
