Friday, Oct. 13 - 

Attention Sophomores:  This is a reminder to turn in your HOBY application paper to either Mrs. Nafziger or Mrs. Frazer by Thursday, Oct. 19.

Juniors, please turn in class supper volunteer forms and donations today to Mr. Bishop or Mrs. Wyman.

STEM Module #2 begins NEXT week on Tuesday, October 17th.  All four sessions of this module will meet on Tuesdays in Mrs. Meller’s science classroom

 

Today, if you subscribed to the Pet Echoes, you will receive issue 2 at the end of the day. If you didn’t turn in your subscription form and $4, you still can!  Fill out the blue subscription form and bring $4 cash or check made out to Pettisville Schools and turn in to Mrs. Dadisman or the office.  We will get your Issue 2 and will put you on the list for all the future issues.  Don’t hesitate!  Subscribe to the Pet Echoes today.

Activity Period today will be for FFA & Student Council.  FFA will meet in Mr. Poulson’s room and Student Council will meet in the theatre. All other students should report to homeroom.

The varsity soccer team closed out the regular season with a 9-2 victory over the visiting Panthers from Delta last night. In the victory, Detric Yoder broke Quinn Nofziger’s single season goal scoring record and Justin Rufenacht’s career goal scoring record. Congratulations! The varsity team now moves onto tournament play next week.  The soccer team will host Cardinal Stritch on Tuesday, October 17 at Pettisville in the OHSAA Sectional Semi-finals.  The match will start at 4:30. 

The JV and Varsity volleyball teams finished the regular season with a pair of victories at home last night over North Central.  The JV team won in two sets and the varsity won in 4 sets.  The varsity team will host either Cardinal Stritch or Hilltop on Thursday, October 19, at Pettisville in the OHSAA Sectional Final starting at 6:30. 

The 7th grade volleyball team defeated North Central in two sets.  The 8th grade team was defeated in two sets.  The 7th and 8th grade volleyball teams will compete on Saturday in the BBC tournament at Fayette.

Good luck to the cross country teams at the BBC Championships at Edon on Saturday.

Attention Spanish Club trip participants:  Passports are due tomorrow.  You can avoid late fees by bringing your passport in any time this week.

A college rep from Northwest State will be here today at 11:15.

The FCCLA fall district rally will be on the 24th of October and the cost of admittance will be $1 per member.  Sign up will be in Mrs. Bacon’s room.  After signing up, please take a permission slip home and get a parent’s signature.  Return the permission slip to Mrs. Bacon or your fellow FCCLA officers as soon as possible. If there is an issue with the dollar fee for admittance, please see Mrs. Bacon.  In addition, we are asking for you to bring money for lunch.  Your choices of dining will be McDonald’s, Dairy Queen or Subway.  Contact Mrs. Bacon with any questions.

The varsity soccer team will take on Delta tonight at home.  Soccer senior night will begin at 4:45.

The JV and Varsity volleyball teams will host North Central tonight in BBC play.  Volleyball senior night will begin immediately following the conclusion of the JV match. Good luck to all of our teams tonight.

Wednesday, Oct. 11 -

Juniors, please return class supper volunteer forms and donations to Mr. Bishop or Mrs. Wyman by Friday.  Please remind your parents that their volunteer forms are also due Friday.

STEM Module #2 begins NEXT week on Tuesday, October 17th.  All four sessions of this module will meet on Tuesdays in Mrs. Meller’s science classroom.  The module is full at this time.  For those of you who signed up, please check your personal calendar and make sure you can attend the STEM sessions.  Let Mrs. Miller or Mrs. Meller know if you signed up and now have schedule conflicts so we can make your space available to others who are interested in attending.  For those who are interested in 3D printing but did not sign up, we can put you on a wait list in case a space opens up.

The varsity soccer team was victorious last night over Continental by a score of 1-0.  The varsity team will close out the regular season tomorrow night against Delta at home.  This is a reminder that senior night for the soccer team will begin at 4:45 with the match starting at 5:00.

The varsity volleyball team will host North Central tomorrow in the regular season finale.  The JV match will begin at 5:30. Senior night for the volleyball team will begin immediately following the conclusion of the JV match.

Detention today will be in Miss Stahl’s room #150.

Tuesday, Oct. 10 -

Book Club for 7th grade and NHS starts today.  Grab your lunch and head upstairs quickly.

There will be girls’ basketball open gym tonight from 6:30-8:00 for girls in grades 7-12.

Congratulations to Madeline Shumaker.  She is the winner of the Oldest Class Ring Contest.  She brought in a ring from 1922 and will receive her class ring for free.

The 7th grade volleyball team defeated Wauseon last night in three sets 22-25, 29-27, and 25-23.

Monday, Oct. 9 - 

The varsity soccer team played Number 2 state ranked Ottawa Hills to a 2 to 2 tie on Saturday.  The Blackbirds were down 2 to 1 when Detric Yoder scored with less than a minute to play to even the score at 2 to 2.  The varsity soccer team will travel to Continental on Tuesday.

This is a reminder to junior high and high school basketball players that there will be shoe sizing in the varsity gym at lunch today.

Cross Country Results from Saturday at Hudson:

*Varsity Girls – Invitational Champions!!  Lady Birds took places 1-2-8-9-16.  Enroute to victory, Elizabeth Sauder and Nichole Foor went 1st & 2nd.

*Varsity Boys – Invitational Champions!!  Birds took spots 5-7-12-28-31 for their first place finish.

*JH Girls – Team was 9th out of 26 schools.  Elise Hoylman and Karsyn Hostetler led the Lady Birds taking 20th & 21st.

*JH Boys – Zach McWatters led the Birds taking 100th.

Detention today will be in Mrs. Miller’s room #207.
