Announcements - Week of 2/10/2020

Friday, Feb. 14 - 

Congratulations to Leah Roth and Anneka Wesche who were selected to perform in a children’s choir in conjunction with the Toledo Symphony.  They will perform Carl Orff’s “Carmina Burana” tonight and Saturday evening at the Peristyle in the Toledo Art Music. Thanks, Anneka and Leah, for representing Pettisville in this performance.

Tonight’s theme for the boys’ basketball game at Fayette is “Dream Job.”

Morning Activity Period will be for FFA – meet in Mr. Poulson’s room; Student Council – meet in Mrs. Richer’s room.  Juniors should report to study hall.  All other students should report to homeroom.

Today’s bell schedule will be the Morning Activity Period schedule with a pep rally. The pep rally will take place at the end of 8th period. All students should report to the junior high gym for the pep rally.

This is a reminder that today is the last day to donate to the hygiene drive. Thank you for all your support this week. The victims at Sarah’s Friends will greatly appreciate it. The winner will be announced later today. Stay tuned.

All high school students are reminded about the Back Bay this Saturday night after the boys’ home game. There will be games, free pizza and drinks until 11:00pm.

There will be a lunch meeting today for Spanish Club. Please submit presentations via classroom to keep things moving.

Prom Dinner Committee will meet in Mrs. Frazer’s room at lunch Tuesday the 18th and Friday the 21st.

The JV and varsity girls’ basketball teams split last night with Fayette with Pettisville coming out on top in the JV game and Fayette victorious in the varsity game. The JV team won on Meleah Plank’s buzzer beating 3 point shot as time expired. The girls’ varsity team now moves onto the OHSAA Tournament.  The girls team will take on the North Central Eagles on Tuesday, February 18 at Bryan High School in the second game of the evening with the first game starting at 6:15pm.  This is not a split session. Your ticket is good for both games.  There are no pre-sale tickets for sectionals.  Tickets at the door will be $6 for adults and $4 for students.

The junior high quiz team moved to 2-0 yesterday after narrowly defeating Wauseon by a score of 39-36. Sophie Sterken and Olivia Rossman were the top points scorers, scoring 8 and 6 points, respectively.

Thursday, Feb. 13 - 

FCCLA members:  Wear RED or your FCCLA t-shirt tomorrow to celebrate National FCCLA Week!

7th and 8th graders:  Please report to the junior high gym today during 8th period to attend the fundraiser kick-off. Please take all books to your locker after 7th period and report to the JH gym promptly.

The theme for the Senior night girls’ basketball game vs. Fayette today is “Dress like the faculty.”

Good luck to the girls’ basketball team tonight in their final home game vs. Fayette. The JV game will only be 2 quarters. The JV game will start at 6:00pm. After the 2 quarters, we will recognize our senior basketball players.

Wednesday, Feb. 12 - 

FCCLA members:  Wear RED tomorrow to celebrate National FCCLA Week!

In yesterday’s season opener, the junior high quiz team defeated Archbold 55-22.  Caden Bishop and Sophie Sterken were high scorers with 7 and 6 respectively.

7th and 8th graders:  Tomorrow during 8th period, you will attend the kickoff for your annual fundraiser.

Detention today will be in Mr. Bishop’s room #220.

Tuesday, Feb. 11 - 

Attention high school quiz team: Please meet in Ms. Dorosz’s room today at lunch. If you are unable to make it, please see her.

FCCLA members:  Wear RED on Friday to celebrate National FCCLA Week!

Don’t forget, this week a hygiene drive is being held! There are 6 bins right outside the main entrance. Place your donated items in the bin that has your grade level on it.  At the end of the week, a name from the grade that donated the most items will be drawn to win a prize. All donations go to Sarah’s Friends, a crime and violence shelter. Please donate to help support those suffering. 

Please turn in Valentine’s Day orders for flowers and Crush cans today and tomorrow during lunch in the atrium.  Last minute orders can be turned into Mrs. Bacon on Thursday morning only.  Turn in order forms with money – preferably exact money due.

Last night, the high school quiz team defeated Wauseon and Archbold, closing their NBAL league season with a perfect 10-0 record. Their first place finish in the league also qualifies them for the regional tournament this spring. Congratulations to them!

Today we will be operating on the Morning Activity Period schedule for class meetings. This Friday, we will hold the pep rally that was scheduled for last week.

Monday, Feb. 10 -

Valentine’s Day is approaching and hopefully you are thinking about giving special gifts to the people you care about and love. Stop by the atrium and see what you can send to your Valentine. You can purchase the following: Gerber Daisies - $6; Carnations - $3.50; Crush Pop Cans - $1.  You can send a message with your gift. FCCLA will have a table in the atrium during lunch today and each day until Feb. 12th. Find out the colors of flowers when you stop by the table. Pick up your order forms, fill them out, and return them with the correct amount of money for your order. All orders will be delivered on February 14th. Detention today will be in the theatre with Mr. Beck.
