Announcements - Week of April 24, 2017

Friday, April 28, 2017 - NHS members!  There will be a group picture taken at 11:45 on Tuesday, May 2, in the auditorium.  Please dress up for this picture as it will be going in the yearbook.  Please do not wear jeans.

 If you are interested in being in Pettisville Idol this year, please sign up in Mrs. Bacon’s room starting today through next Monday.

 Spanish Club trip deposit and registration forms are due today at 3:05.

 The second grade Consumer Fair is coming next week.  We have all kinds of items to buy.  We will have a variety of items to choose, from bookmarks to catapults.  Come check out what the 2nd graders have made.  Proceeds are going to the FISH Food Pantry and Heifer Project International.

 Today students in grades 8-11 will be voting for the 2017-2018 student council president.  Students in grades 9-11 will vote immediately after announcements.  8th graders will vote at the beginning of 2nd period.  Student council members will deliver ballots to classrooms and collect them.  We will now hear a few words from each candidate.  (Each candidate proceeded with a short speech.)

Congratulations to the softball and baseball teams last night on their BBC wins over Stryker with the softball team winning 16-10 and the baseball team 6-4.  The softball and baseball teams will be back in action tonight as they host the Liberty Center Tigers starting at 5:00.

The varsity track teams will compete at the Archbold Relays tonight starting at 4:00pm.  Good luck to all of our teams.

There will be a meeting for boys in grades 8, 9, 10, 11 that are playing basketball next season.  The meeting will be during lunch in room 150.  Bring your lunch to the meeting.

Activity Period today will be for Student Council and Spanish Club.  Student Council will meet in the theatre.  Spanish Club will meet in the cafeteria.  All other students should report to homeroom.

7th and 8th grade Writers Ink participants:  There is a practice in Mr. Switzer’s room during Activity Period today.

Tuesday, April 25, 2017 - Attention Prom Decorating Committee:  Here are several reminders:  1) Please bring your signed permission slip as soon as possible. 2) If you can’t decorate Friday or have to leave early, please make sure someone is taking your place. 3) Please meet in the old commons for our meeting tomorrow; we have a lot of last minute items to discuss. 4) Anytime you have free time, we need you working on the decorations.  Thank you!

Girls: Montpelier – 96; Pville 80 1/2 ; N.C. – 28; Hilltop – 18 1/2. Grace Schnitkey smashed the shot put record 40’1” with the old record being 37’5”.

Boys: Montpelier – 102; Pville – 57; Hilltop – 33; N.C. - 12

Monday, April 24, 2017 - Attention science fair participants:  All students who participated in science fair this year must meet in the Atrium on Tuesday at 8:15 for a group picture.

 If you have participated in any of the STEM modules this year, please meet in the atrium at 8:15 on Tuesday, April 25 for a group picture.

 High School Track Results from Ayersville Invitational:

Girls:  Team – 5th out of 16 teams.  Girls 4x800 set a new meet record of 9:46.96.  Members are Liz Sauder, Nichole Foor, Morgan & Alexa Leppelmeier.

Boys:  Team – 13th out of 16 teams.

Detention today will be in Mrs. Bacon’s room.
