Announcements - Week of 10/28/19

Friday,  Nov. 1 - 

There will be a Senior class meeting at 8:30 and a Freshman class meeting at 9:00 this morning.  There will be an announcement to release seniors and freshmen to the cafeteria at the appropriate times. The meetings will last for approximately 30 minutes.

Be sure to hand in your yearbook order form today or visit jostensyearbooks.com to order your 2019-2020 yearbook before the price increases.  See Ms. Dorosz if you have any questions.

Student Council is pleased to announce the results of the homecoming voting. The Homecoming queen escorts are Mitchell Avina and Payne Reiniche. And the PHS homecoming queen is Kelly Miller.  Congratulations!

This is a reminder that tonight is the first practice for boys’ high school basketball.  Be in room 150 dressed and ready for practice at 4:40pm.  Junior high boys’ basketball practice begins tonight at 5:00pm.

Junior high cheerleading practice begins after school today.

Today’s activity period will be for class meetings. 7th grade report to Mr. Switzer’s room; 8th grade report to the band room; 9th and 10th grade report to the study hall; 11th grade report to Mrs. Frazer’s room; Seniors report to Mr. Poulson’s Ag shop.

Thursday, Oct. 31 - 

There will be a Senior class meeting at 8:30 and a Freshman class meeting at 9:00 tomorrow.  There will be an announcement to release seniors and freshmen to the cafeteria at the appropriate times. The meetings will last for approximately 30 minutes.

Tomorrow is the last day to order your 2019-2020 yearbook for $40. See Ms. Dorosz for a form if you need one.

Attention all HS soccer players attending state soccer:  Please see Coach Switzer today and submit your $55.00 to him.

Spanish Club trip payment is due tomorrow, November 1st. Please have the check made out in the amount due on your spreadsheet. If you did not pick up a spreadsheet, stop in Señora’s room today. Boys who are going on the trip need to see Señora for a brief meeting during lunch. Please come up at 11:40 to discuss housing.

Homecoming queen will be announced Friday morning during morning announcements. Students will be voting for 9-12th grade homecoming representatives tomorrow during morning activity period. Student Council thanks you for your participation.

Attention boys’ basketball team: Please meet in Mrs. Richer’s room today during lunch to vote for Homecoming escorts. Due to another meeting in that room at 11:40, please stop in before you go to lunch, or sometime before 11:40. 

Seniors:  Please turn in your yearbook quotes by tomorrow to Joel Flory, Kenzi Rivera, or Ryeana Klopfenstein.

Wednesday, Oct. 30 - 

College Reps today during lunch:  Goshen, Hesston, EMU.

There will be a Senior class meeting at 8:30 and a Freshman class meeting at 9:00 this Friday, November 1st.  There will be an announcement to release seniors and freshmen to the cafeteria at the appropriate times. The meetings will last for approximately 30 minutes.

With tomorrow being Halloween, students will be permitted to dress up in a costume for the school day.  The dress code will still be enforced. No masks can be worn unless we can clearly see who you are. No weapons or simulated weapons can be brought to school. Teachers may also entertain the idea of dressing up in a costume.

Be sure to purchase your 2019-2020 yearbook by this Friday before the price increases! Visit jostensyearbooks.com, see Ms. Dorosz, or pick up a form in the office.

Detention today will be with Ms. Stahl in room #150.

The high school quiz team faced Southview at home last night and Pettisville’s varsity team won 375-110. The JV team clinched a victory on the final tossup and won 240-210.

The JH/HS Challenge Bucket winners from “You Choose Week” are Esty Shaw and Jake King.
