Congratulations to the boys’ basketball team for their district semi-final victory over Stryker last night by a score of 65-56. The Blackbirds will now play Hicksville in the district final at Napoleon High School on Friday, March 8, starting at 7:00pm. Doors will open at 6:00pm. Pettisville will be the visiting team, so the Pettisville seating section will be the east side of the gym behind the team benches. Pre-sale tickets will be on sale Thursday and Friday from 8:00-4:00 in the school office. Pre-sale ticket prices are $6 for adults and $4 for students. All children regardless of age occupying a seat must have a ticket. All tickets at the door are $6.

The theme for tonight’s boys’ tournament basketball game against Stryker is “white out.” All underclassmen wear white and seniors will wear white retro jerseys. Morgan will pass them out at lunch today.

This past Saturday, the high school quiz team hosted the 2nd annual PettiWarz NAQT tournament. 21 teams participated. Pettisville D tied for 15th place, Pettisville C tied for 11th, Pettisville B tied for 5th, and the Pettisville A team was named tournament runner-up. All Tournament Honors went to: Peyton Miller - honorable mention; Levi Myers - 3rd team; Austin Rearick - 2nd team; Luke Young - 2nd team; Heath Waidelich - 2nd team. Named to the first team were Aaron Rupp – 8th; Zach Basselman – 7th; Dalton Myers – 6th. Congratulations to all 26 quizzers who participated.
Results from the State FFA Degree were announced over the weekend. William Fenton, Calvin Nofziger and Jessie McWatters will receive their degree. Also, Kayla Wyse was selected as a finalist in the state star in Agriscience Competition. Congrats!
STEM Club Coding module meets today after school in room 209.
Baden Skates, Madeline Shumaker and Jessica McWatters presented their research at the Ohio Academy of Science District Science Day at University of Toledo on Saturday. All three students earned superior ratings and qualified to present their research projects at the OAS State Science Day at OSU in May. All three also won sponsored awards. Baden – Stranahan Arboretum Environmental Science Award. Jessica – Mercy College of Ohio Outstanding Project in Biology, Chemistry or Medicine. Madeline – Water Environment Award.

The Blackbirds will now play Stryker in the District Tournament at Napoleon High School on Wednesday, March 6 in the second game of the evening starting at approximately 8:00 PM with the first game of the evening, Edgerton vs. Hicksville, starting at 6:15pm. This is a split session. Your ticket is only good for the Pettisville versus Stryker game. The gym will be cleared after the first game. Pre-sale tickets will be on sale Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday from 8:00-4:00 in the school office. Pre-sale ticket prices are $6 for adults and $4 for students. All tickets at the door are $6.
