Announcements - Week of 2/25-19

Friday, March 1 - 

Attention girls in grades 8-11 who are interested in playing volleyball next season. There will be an important meeting today at lunch in the library. Spring and summer information will be passed out. If you cannot attend, please see Coach Horning ahead of time.

Morning activity period will be for class meetings.

Congratulations to the girls’ basketball team for their district semi-final victory over North Central by a score of 46 to 25.  The girls will play in the district final on Saturday, March 2 against Stryker at Archbold High School starting at 7:00pm.

Pre-sale tickets are sale for the girls’ district final game today in the office until 4:00.  Pre-sale ticket prices are $6 for adults and $4 for students.  All tickets at the door are $6.

Good luck to the boys’ basketball team tonight in the sectional final versus Fayette at Bryan High School starting at 6:15pm. There are no pre-sale tickets for the boys’ sectional game. 

The Pettisville Red Cross Blood Drive is next Wednesday, March 6. Plesae sign up in the atrium at lunch to give blood or contact Josh Bock, Mrs. Richer or Mr. Beck.

FFA Results from this week include:  The Greenhand team of Clara Damman, Carson Bennett, Baden Skates and Angie Rosillo placed 3rd in the district in the Greenhand Quiz CDE. Clara was 3rd individually.  Three members competed at the District I Agriscience Fair. Kayla Wyse and Jessie McWatters placed 1st in their division and Baden Skates placed 2nd.  State Proficiency results were announced yesterday. Top 4 state finalists include Madeleine Wixom in Wildlife and Kayla Wyse in Plant Research. Liz Beck is the District Winner in Diversified Livestock Production. Congratulations!

Thursday, Feb. 28 - 

Congratulations to the junior high quiz team on their narrow 37-36 victory over Wauseon last night. They will face Archbold on Monday for their last regular season match before tournament.

Attention high school quiz members:  If you are parcipating in the tournament on Saturday, please meet in Ms. Dorosz’s room at lunch today.

The theme for the girls’ tournament game tonight is “Black Out.” The theme for the boys’ tournament game Friday is “Super Spirit.”

Wednesday, Feb. 27 - 

FCCLA members getting their Power of One degree should meet in Mrs. Bacon’s room today at lunch for judging.  FCCLA members attending the rally on Monday need to turn in their permission slips by tomorrow. FCCLA officers should meet with Mrs. Bacon during lunch this Friday for a leadership training activity.  All FCCLA members competing at Regionals on March 9 should see Mrs. Bacon today.

Tuesday, Feb. 26 - 

On Tuesday of next week, February 26, there will be a financial literacy event here at school called Real Money Real World. There will be a lot of professional people conducting the simulation. There are also 2 guest speakers. Please be respectful at all times. The following students will be participating….all seniors, all 8th graders, and all College and Career Readiness students.  At the 9:05 bell, the 8th graders are to report directly the theater and be seated. The seniors and Career students are to report directly to the old commons and library area. The event will end at 11:05am.  You can go directly to lunch at that time.  If you have any questions, please see Mrs. Bacon.

All seniors and all of Mrs. Bacon’s Career Readiness students must report to Mrs. Bacon’s room at 9:05 this morning to get instructions. Then you will go to the library after the short meeting in Mrs. Bacon’s room.  All 8th graders go directly to the theatre at 9:05 as planned.

Pettisville defeated Fayette 42-35 to secure the win.  The girls will now play in the district tournament this Thursday, February 28 vs. North Central at Archbold High School in the second game of the evening starting at approximately 8:00pm.  Pre-sale tickets for the girls’ district game will be on sale Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday from 8:00 to 4:00 in the school office.  Pre-sale ticket prices are $6 for adults and $4 for students.  All tickets at the door are $6. Fans are encouraged to purchase pre-sale tickets since the schools receive a portion of the ticket sales.  This is not a split session on Thursday.  Your ticket is also good for the first game of the evening, Stryker vs. Edgerton, that begins at 6:15pm.
