Announcements - Week of 2/11/19

Friday, Feb. 15 - 

At the boys’ basketball game this evening, the high school quiz team will hold a bake sale and silent auction in order to raise money for Nationals. Come support your quiz team while cheering on the Blackbirds.

The themes for the boys’ basketball games this week are:  Friday – retro.  Meet Taylor and Sami in the atrium right after school on Friday to get your retro jersey. You must sign it out and return it to Mrs. Bacon’s room first thing Monday morning. Seniors get first pick, then juniors, etc.  Saturday’s game – Seniors wear WHITE and grades K-11 wear BLACK.

High school students are invited to the 5th quarter at the Back Bay Saturday night, February 16.  There will be live music by the Stepbrothers along with free pizza, pop, and games. This is the final 5th Quarter of the year. We will be honoring the Seniors!

Afternoon activity period will be for Spanish Club. They will meet in Sra. Richer’s room.

Thursday, Feb. 14 - 


Seniors:  If you were informed that your Jostens order has arrived, please pick up your box in Mr. Lane’s office sometime today.

This is FCCLA Week.  The dress theme for tomorrow is “Be A Friend.”  Dress alike with one of your friends. Remember that we are helping with the Fairlawn Heart Carnival tonight. Meet in Mrs. Bacon’s room at 5:00.  Transportation is provided.

There will be a meeting for high school softball players today during lunch in the library. Please bring your lunch to the meeting.

Good luck to the JV and varsity girls’ basketball teams tonight as they travel to Fayette to take on the Eagles.

Wednesday, Feb. 13 - 

Today is the last collection day for the 6, 7, 8th grade fundraiser. Please make sure to turn in all your order forms and money to your homeroom/1st period class at the beginning of class.

There will be a meeting for high school softball players on Thursday, Feb. 14, during lunch in the library. Please bring your lunch to the meeting. If you have any questions, please see Mr. Leppelmeier.

On Monday evening, the high school quiz team traveled to the ESC to wrap up play in the Northern Buckeye Academic League. At an exhausting five matches (due to makeups), the quiz team finished the regular season with just one loss. As they tied with Evergreen at 10-1, first place was determined by total points scored in the season, and Pettisville was victorious. Congratulations to the league champions! Good luck to them Thursday as they face Northview in the Toledo Area League.

Science Fair meeting will be tomorrow, Thursday, at lunch in Mrs. Meller’s science classroom.    

High School quiz team:  If you are unable to come to practice after school, please see Ms. Dorosz sometime today.

Detention today will be in Mr. Switzer’s room #206.

At District I FFA Public Speaking Monday night, two members participated.  Kayla Wyse placed 3rd in Advanced Prepared and Emma Salmi placed 9th in Creed.
