Wednesday, Nov. 14 - 

Tomorrow is the annual free cholesterol screening for freshmen, seniors, and staff. Staff members can have their cholesterol screened for only $5. Monday raised will go to the Fulton County Heart Radiothon. The screening for freshmen and seniors will take place during the morning. Staff members can be screened before school or during the morning, starting at 7:30am. Please make sure you have your form signed by a parent and turned into the office, or have your form with you tomorrow morning.  From those who participate, Mr. Lane will draw the names of one senior and one freshman who will have the opportunity to pull the fire alarm during an upcoming fire drill.

Batman vs. Superman…..You can decide who wins the Best Superhero title by bringing in canned goods and placing them in your favorite Superheroes bin. May the better hero win!  Items to bring in:  Nothing expired; canned goods such as soup, fruits, vegetables; Mac & Cheese; Rice; Noodles. Bins will be located in the main hallway by the front entrance.

Learn how microcontrollers are used in robotics. Sign up for the Arduino STEM unit by Friday.

Current NHS members: Please meet in the theatre Thursday and Friday at 11:40.

Junior high All-County participants should report to the atrium immediately after announcements.

This Thursday, November 15th is the annual free cholesterol screening for freshmen, seniors, and staff. Staff members can have their cholesterol screened for only $5. Monday raised will go to the Fulton County Heart Radiothon. The screening for freshmen and seniors will take place during the morning. Staff members can be screened before school or during the morning, starting at 7:30am.  Any freshman or senior who did not get a form yesterday can pick one up in the office today.  All students under the age of 18 will need a parent signature. The completed forms will need to be brought to school by Thursday morning in order to be screened. You may also drop your completed form off in the office before Thursday. From those who participate, Mr. Lane will draw the names of one senior and one freshman who will have the opportunity to pull the fire alarm during an upcoming fire drill.

 Don’t forget to sign up for the Arduino STEM unit! Three sessions.  Three Fridays right after school. Starts the week after Thanksgiving. Learn how microcontrollers are used in robotics. Make sure to sign up by THIS Friday.

Thank you to all who filled a box for Operation Christmas Child. This week is collection week. If you still have a filled box to turn in, please bring it to Mrs. Miller’s math classroom by tomorrow.

Congratulations to Max Leppelmeier and Logan Rufenacht for their finishes at the OHSAA State Cross Country Championships on Saturday. Max finished in 35th place and Logan finished in 57th place out of a field of 181 runners. Well done!

Monday, Nov. 12 - 

 

Congratulations to the high school quiz team who finished sixth overall but FIRST among small schools at the Hicksville tournament this Saturday. With that finish, they are officially qualified for the NAQT small school national tournament for the second year in a row. The Pettisville B team also had an outstanding day, and while results are still pending, they may have qualified Pettisville for a second national bid. Dalton Myers received all-tournament honorable mention, and Aaron Rupp and Zach Basselman received all-tournament second team honors. Good luck to the team tonight in their 4th match of the Toledo Area League season, where currently both the JV and Varsity teams are undefeated.

 

Come enjoy Brookview Farm chicken, Doughbox pies, Homestead Ice Cream plus more at the Junior Class supper.  Following the junior class supper, we will have Meet the Team Night and Parent/Player Meetings. Meet the Team Night will begin at 7:15pm in the varsity gym. All teams are asked to wear the new spirit shirt and jeans. Parent/player meetings will begin immediately after Meet the Team.

Freshmen and Seniors will receive a form today that will need to be completed prior to Thursday’s screening. All students under the age of 18 will need a parent signature. Don’t forget to sign up for the next STEM module on Intro to Arduinos. For those of you who don’t know what an Arduino is…the basics are that they are microcontrollers that are used in building digital devices and interactive objects that can sense and control objects in the physical and digital world. The great news is you can easily learn and use Arduinos without a ton of knowledge about electronics or coding. Sign up by Friday on the sign-up sheet posted on Mrs. Meller’s science classroom door.

 

Congratulations to Morgan Leppelmeier and Mauricea Crouch. Morgan was named District 7 Player of the Year and Mauricea received 2nd Team District 7 honors. Both will be playing in the District 7 All-Star volleyball match this evening at Bowsher High School.

 

Detention today will be in the career center with Mrs. Wyman.
