Friday, Feb. 2

Valentine’s Day is approaching and hopefully you are thinking about giving special gifts to the people you care about and love.  Stop by the atrium and see what you can send to your Valentine.  You can purchase:  Gerber Daisies - $6; Carnations - $3.50; Crush pop cans - $1.  You can send a message with your gift.  Be sure to stop by the FCCLA table in the atrium during lunch today and every day until Feb. 9th.  Find out what the colors of flowers are when you stop by the table.  Pick up an order form, fill it out, and return it with the correct amount of money for your order.  All orders will be delivered on February 14th.  Crush pop cans, along with their message, will be delivered after school.  See Autumn Coffey, Kenzi Rivera, or Mrs. Bacon if you have any questions.

7th and 8th grade girls basketball players are reminded to turn in their clean jerseys to Miss Stahl by Friday.

Musical rehearsal for Monday will be from 7-9pm.  We will do blocks 8, 9, 13, and 19.  Chorus will meet from 7-8pm.

Pre-sale tickets for the Ayersville game Saturday night are on sale in the office today from 8:00-4:00.  Pre-sale ticket prices are $6 for adults and $4 for students.  All tickets at the door at Ayersville are $6.

5th Quarter for all high school students will be Friday night, February 2, following the boys’ home basketball game.  Free pizza, pop and games are provided.  See you there!

Activity Period today will be for Class Meetings.  7th & 8th graders will meet in the JH gym for the fundraiser kick-off.

The theme for tonight’s home game against Stryker is “Beach.”

We hope to see you tonight at the freshman class fundraiser.  Come enjoy parfaits, coffee, a bake sale and an exciting raffle!

Immediately following the conclusion of tonight’s JV game, seniors Connor Wyse, Nichole Foor and Elizabeth Sauder will be recognized for earning All-Ohio honors this past fall.

Thursday, Feb. 1

Spanish Club trip members:  Please come to Sra. Richer’s room today at 11:40 for a brief meeting.  Some paperwork needs to be completed and enchilada work times need to be arranged.

Several FFA members completed and turned in applications for FFA degrees, awards and officer books.  They were checked at Regional Evaluation yesterday and sent on to the state where they will be reviewed and approved at the end of the month.  Doing American FFA degrees were graduates Hannah Meller, Jacob Dennis, and Lynnsey Crouch.  Completing State FFA degrees were 9 members: Sarah Beck, Stetson Aeschliman, Mauricea Crouch, Elizabeth Beck, Drake McKeever, Brandi Schnitkey, Tony Stuckey, Madeleine Wixom, Kayla Wyse. Completing a Star in Agriscience application was Jordan Skates.  Completing proficiency applications were: Gretchen Lee - both Diversified Ag Research and Diversified Livestock; Jordan Skates – Environmental Research; Kayla Wyse – Plant Ag Research; Brandi Schnitkey – Equine Entrepreneurship.  Completing officer books were: Treasurer – Mauricea Crouch; Secretary – Kayla Wyse; Reporter – Drake McKeever.  Both Mauricea and Kayla received perfect scores.  Thank you to all these FFA members for completing these applications.  Good luck as you move on to state review.

Wednesday, Jan. 31

Seniors who ordered graduation announcements from Jostens should have picked them up this morning from Mr. Jason Miller in the cafeteria.

Junior class officers will meet with Mr. Miller this morning after announcements.  The meeting will take place in the cafeteria.

There will be softball conditioning in the weight room this Thursday after school until 4:15.

Congratulations to the high school quiz team on another exciting (and historic) win.  For the first time in school history, the Nerd Herd was named the Fulton/Henry County tournament champions, finishing the tournament without a loss.

Detention today will be in Mrs. Meller’s room #214.

Tuesday, Jan. 30

Seniors who ordered graduation announcements may pick them up tomorrow morning before school in the cafeteria.  If you have a balance remaining, please bring it with you. 

Junior class officers will meet with the Jostens rep tomorrow morning after announcements.  The meeting will take place in the cafeteria.

Last night at Archbold High School, three Pettisville FFA members competed in the subdistrict public speaking contest.  Placing first in the advanced prepared contest was Gretchen Lee.  Placing in the extemporaneous contest was Jordan Skates.  Placing in the Creed contest was Jasmine Rodriguez.  The top two in the contest advance to district competition next Thursday.

Good luck to the JV and varsity girls’ basketball teams tonight at Holgate starting at 6:00pm.  The JV game tonight will only be 2 quarters.

Homecoming court members:  If you have not already turned in your questionnaire, please do so to Jake Myers by the end of the day on Thursday.  If it’s not turned in, you are giving Jake permission to make something up!!

There will be softball conditioning today from 5:00-6:00pm in the weight room.

Results from the girls’ junior high BBC tournament: The 8th grade girls’ team lost a close one in overtime to Montpelier on Saturday 20-14. The 7th grade girls were victorious 15-14 over Edon.  The 7th grade girls will now take on Montpelier today at 5:00pm at Stryker High School.

The freshman boys pulled out a come-from-behind victory over Liberty Center on Saturday 30-25.

The JV and varsity boys’ teams were both victorious on over the weekend. The JV team defeated Montpelier 54-16 and Liberty Center 53-38.  The varsity defeated Montpelier 52-49 and Liberty Center 52-22.
