Announcements - Week of Aug. 21

Friday, Aug. 25 - 

There will be a read-through for “Flowers for Algernon” at 7:00 tonight in the theatre.  Please let Michael or Mr. Beck know if you will not be there.

 Do you know what a phonophobe fears?  If you enjoy this and other interesting bits of information, you should consider joining Pettisville’s junior high or high school quiz team.  If you are interested, please see Ms. Dorosz by next Wednesday.  In case you’re still trying to figure it out, a phonophobe fears noise.

 The kickoff of the junior high FCA season is Wednesday, Aug. 30th at lunch in Mrs. Miller’s room.  There will be ice cream and a cool experiment.  All junior high students are welcome.  Come enjoy faith, fellowship, and ice cream.

Junior high and high school:  Family score reports will be distributed today during class meetings.  Only students who participated in the Ohio State testing in the spring will receive a score report.

 Activity period today will be for class meetings.

Snack items will be available for JH and HS students during lunch today in the cafeteria.  There will be an additional fee to purchase an item.

Spanish Club pizza sales start Monday.  Spanish Club trip members should check google classroom for important updates.

 The National School Lunch Program regulations require that students not have a negative lunch balance above $10.  These requirements are new and are outside of the control of Pettisville School.  Any student who has a negative balance of over $10 cannot purchase a lunch or other items until that balance has been eliminated or reduced below the $10 threshold. For students who are above that level and without the funds to pay, the school will provide an alternative meal for the student that day at no charge.

 The varsity soccer team played to a 3 to 3 tie last night with the visiting Maumee Panthers.  The JV lost a close match 1 to 0.  The JV and Varsity soccer teams are back in action tomorrow night at Archbold.  Please note that the matches will be played at the football and track stadium at Archbold High School.  The JV match begins at 6:00pm followed by the varsity match. Good luck tomorrow night.

The varsity volleyball team improved to 2 and 1 on the season with a straight road victory over Edon last night by scores of 25-19, 25-12, and 25-19.  The JV and freshman teams were defeated by Edon in two sets.

The 7th grade volleyball team opened the season up with a two set victory over Edon.  The 8th grade team fell to Edon to even their record at 1 and 1.

North Central edged out the varsity golf team last night by a score of 193 to 203.

Good luck to the cross country teams tomorrow morning as they open up their seasons at the Defiance Early Bird Invitational.

Thursday, Aug. 24 - 

Congratulations to all who auditioned for “Flowers for Algernon.”  The cast list is posted outside the theatre doors.  There will be a read-through from 7:00-9:00pm on Friday – that’s tomorrow!  Please let Michael or Mr. Beck know if you can’t be there.

Wednesday, Aug. 23 - 

The varsity volleyball opened up BBC play last night with a three set victory over Fayette 25-14, 25-14, and 25-9.

 The varsity golf team was defeated in the BBC opener by Fayette with a score of 188-202.

Tuesday, Aug. 22 - 

The varsity soccer team secured their first victory of the season with a road win against Rossford last night by a score of 5 to 0.

 The JV volleyball team opened the season with a victory on the road in two sets over Holgate.

The varsity team lost a tough 5 set match to Holgate.

 This is a reminder that Fayette does not have a JV volleyball team.  Tonight the freshman volleyball match with Edgerton will start at 4:30 PM followed by the varsity only match with Fayette at 6:00 PM. The 8th grade volleyball team travels to Fayette tonight for a 5:00 PM match.  Fayette does not have a 7th grade volleyball team.

The golfers will host Fayette tonight in the BBC opener at Ironwood tonight starting at 4:00 PM.

Monday, Aug. 21 - 

Please listen carefully if you want to be able to use school computers this year.  Until you, as the student, and one of your parents sign off on the Acceptable Use Policy that is one of the documents in Final Forms, you will be unable to use school computers and your Google account will be disabled.  It is very important that this be taken care of by Wednesday.

There is still time to audition for “Flowers for Algernon.”  See Mr. Beck today to schedule an audition.

Varsity and junior high golf pictures will be today right after school.  Please meet in the atrium.

The JV soccer team will play only one half today following the varsity game at Rossford.  The bus will leave at 3:15 today.
