Announcements - Week of 10/14/19

Friday, Oct. 18 - 

Next week starts “You Choose” Week. On Monday, we are choosing to be healthy, so wear your pajamas, a reminder that you need to be getting enough sleep each night.  Listen to the announcements next week for challenges you need to complete. Fill out a challenge form located across from the Career Center. Every challenge you complete earns you more chances to win a prize.

Attention Juniors! Forms for the class supper must be returned TODAY so a work schedule can be created. Please also remind your parents their forms need to be returned too. Please return forms to Mr. Bishop or Mrs. Wyman TODAY.

Afternoon Activity Period will be for Spanish Club. They will meet in Sra. Richer’s room. All juniors who are NOT in Spanish Club are to meet in Mrs. Meller’s room.  All other students should report to homeroom.

The cross country teams will compete in the district tournament tomorrow at Ottawa Park in Ottawa.  The girls race is at 12:45 followed by the boys race at 1:30. The ticket price is $7 for adults and students.

The soccer team plays in the sectional final vs. Maumee Valley Country Day at MVCD tomorrow at 3:00. Ticket prices are $6 for adults and $4 for students.

Any high school girl who has not signed up in Final Forms for cheerleading and is interested in cheerleading needs to see Mr. Leppelmeier by the end of today.

Thursday, Oct. 17 - 

Attention Juniors!  Forms for the class supper must be returned by tomorrow so a work schedule can be created. Please also remind your parents their forms need to be returned too. Please return forms to Mr. Bishop or Mrs. Wyman by Friday. This fundraiser is important in raising funds to do prom and senior year activities.

If you ordered school pictures, please pick them up in the office.

Spanish Club travelers:  Sign up for pizza prep work time for Friday and Saturday through Google classroom. Passports are due tomorrow. Have your passport signed, then make 4 copies to turn in.

For junior high and high school basketball players still interested in purchasing basketball shoes, there will be a second shoe sizing today at lunch from 11:10-11:40 in the varsity gym. 

There will be boys’ basketball open gym for grades 9-12 from 7:00-8:30 tonight in the varsity gym.

Congratulations to the varsity soccer team for their 4-0 win over Cardinal Stritch in the sectional semi-final last night at Pettisville with goals from Zakkai Kaufmann, Gonzalo Pajares, Issac St. John, and Harley Crossgrove.  The soccer team now moves onto the sectional final versus Maumee Valley Country Day at MVCD this Saturday, October 19 at 3:00pm.

Attention all high school soccer players:  This is an important announcement from the Pettisville Soccer Coaching staff……GAME DAY!!  Also, please see Coach Switzer today if you are planning to attend state soccer.

Detention today will be with Mr. Nafziger’s room #212.

The varsity soccer team will host Cardinal Stritch today starting at 4:30pm at the Pettisville soccer field.  This is an OHSAA Tournament event.  No Pettisville season, staff, or senior citizen passes will be accepted.  Ticket prices are $6 for adults and $4 for students.

Attention HS quiz team:  Due to a scheduling conflict, Wednesday’s practice has been rescheduled for Tuesday (today) after school.

Monday, Oct. 14 - 

Attention Spanish Club trip participants:  This week is Pizza week!  Please sign up for worker times on the Google classroom spreadsheet. We need workers before and after the concert on Friday.  Everyone helps on Saturday morning. 

Congratulations to the varsity and JH girls’ cross country teams for winning the BBC Championships on Saturday.  The varsity girls’ team claimed their 7th BBC cross country title in a row.  Kate Stuber finished first for the second year in a row.  1st Team BBC – Kate Stuber in 1st, Sarah Foor in 3rd, Kelly Miller in 4th.  2nd Team BBC – Elise Hoylman in 8th, Renee Hoylman in 12th, Taylor Balser in 14th.  Honorable-Mention BBC – Grace Schnitkey in 17th.

The varsity boys finished in 6th place. Zach McWatters finished 16th earning Honorable-Mention BBC.

The junior high girls finished in first place.  Top finishers: Kendall Sears in 3rd place and Allison Salmi in 5th place. The junior high boys finished in 6th place.  Top finishers: Oliver Shaw in 14th place and Caden Bishop in 17th place.

The varsity volleyball team will travel to Hilltop tomorrow, Tuesday, October 15, for the sectional semi-final beginning at 5:30pm at Hilltop High School. Ticket prices are $6 for adults and $4 for students.
