Announcements - Week of 9/23/19

Thursday, Sept. 27 - 

The Pumpkinfest, sponsored by the Pettisville FFA Alumni and Friends group, is Friday, Oct. 4th. 4-7 graders can sign up for the 3 on 3 basketball contest using the sign-up sheets located in the office or in Mr. Poulson’s room. Grades 4-12 can sign up for the 6 on 6 dodgeball tournament using the same sign-up sheets located in the office or in Mr. Poulson’s room. Dodgeball is co-ed teams with no more than 4 boys on a team. There are no substitutes. The cost is $5/person. The prizes are t-shirts. Sign up and pay by 3:15 on Wednesday, Oct. 2.

Afternoon Activity Period will be for NHS – meet in the computer lab / FCCLA will meet in Mrs. Bacon’s room.  Mrs. Bacon’s homeroom should go to Mrs. Richer’s room.  All other students should report to homeroom.

Girls basketball open gym will be Monday from 7:30-9:00 for girls in grades 5-12.

Girls in JH and HS interested in playing basketball this year need to sign up in the office by the end of the day today. There will be a meeting for all HS players interested on Monday at 7:45pm. Please see Coach Waldvogel if you are unable to attend.

The Prom Theme Committee will meet at lunch today in Mrs. Meller’s science classroom.

Congratulations to the varsity golf for finishing second yesterday at the OHSAA sectional golf tournament at Eagle Rock Golf Club.  With the second place the golf team qualifies as a team for the district golf tournament for the first time in school history.  Antwerp finished first with a 327, Pettisville second with a 330, and Kalida third with a 339.  Max Leppelmeier finished in first with a 74, followed by Tommy McWatters in third with a 77, Caleb Nafziger tied for 16th with an 89, Josh Horning in 23rd with a 90, and Jake King tied for 43rd.  The junior high golf team finished 3rd last night with a score of 216.

The varsity volleyball lost to Hilltop in three sets.  The JV team won in two sets 31-29 and 25-14.

The JH volleyball teams split with Hilltop.  The 7th grade lost in two sets and the 8th grade won in two sets 25-3 and 25-6.

The varsity soccer team lost 3-0 to Bryan and the JV team played to a 1-1 tie with a goal from Alec Rychener.

College Reps this week during lunch:  Today –  BGSU.

The JV and varsity volleyball teams were victorious over Stryker last night.  The JV won in two sets 25-14 and 25-16.  The varsity team won in four sets 25-18, 21-25, 25-18, and 25-14.  The 8th grade volleyball team lost in three sets at Stryker.

The JV and varsity soccer team lost to Kalida. The JH soccer team was defeated by Emmanuel Christian. 

The JH golf team finished third last night with a score of 222.

Monday, Sept. 23 - 

There will be open gym tonight for girls in grades 5-12 from 7:30-8:30pm.

Attention Juniors: Prom Theme Committee will meet tomorrow during lunch. Grab your lunch and come to Mrs. Meller’s science classroom for the meeting.

Come to “See You at the Pole” this Wednesday, September 25 at 7:30am for prayer and worship. Everyone is welcome to participate.

There will be boys’ basketball open gym from 7:30-9:00 tonight.

College Reps this week during lunch:  Tuesday – Defiance College; Wednesday – BGSU.

The varsity soccer team picked up the win over Liberty Center on Saturday by a score of 4-0.  Scoring: Zakkai Kaufmann 2 goals, Quinn Wyse 1 goal, and Harley Crossgrove 1 goal. The JV team played to a 0 to 0 tie with LC.

The varsity golf team placed second at the Tinora Invitational with a score of 322.  Scoring: Max Leppelmeier placed 1st with a 4 under 67, Caleb Nafziger 78, Tommy McWatters 87, Josh Horning 90.

The varsity volleyball team split with Edgerton and Liberty Center on Saturday.  The Blackbirds lost to Edgerton in two sets 12-25 and 19-25.  The varsity was victorious over Liberty Center in three sets 25-27, 25-14, and 25-9.  The JV swept Edgerton and Liberty Center.  They defeated Edgerton 22-25, 25-14, and 25-22 and Liberty Center in two sets 26-24 and 25-20.

The girls’  cross country team finished 6th at the Liberty Center Invitational.  Kate Stuber finished in 7th place. Zach McWatters was the top finisher for the boys in 76th place.  Allison Salmi was the top finisher for the JH girls in 47th place and Oliver Shaw was 94th for the JH boys.

Detention today will be in Mrs. Dadisman’s room #205.
