Announcements - Week of 8/26/19

Friday, Aug. 30 - 

Morning activity period today will be for class meetings.  Sophomore Class meetings will be held in the Art Room (#110) today.

Congratulations to all who auditioned for “The Diary of Anne Frank.” A cast list is posted outside the theatre doors. We are sorry to not be able to have enough parts for everyone. There will be a read-through from 7:00-9:00pm on Thursday, Sept. 5, in the theatre. Please let Michael or Mr. Beck know if you are unable to be there. Cast members should pick up a score today from Mr. Beck.

Your 2018-2019 lariat is here and will be distributed today. We do have a few extras, so if you did not purchase a yearbook and would still like to buy one for $45, please contact Rebecca Dorosz or send an email to yearbook@pettisvilleschools.org.

The 2019-2020 lariat is now for sale! It is available at a discounted rate of $40 until November 1. All students will be given an order form today, and there will be additional ones in the office. Books can also be purchased at yearbook.jostens.com.

Fulton County Safe Communities has a 2019 Teen Distracted Driving Billboard Campaign going on now. You are invited to enter by designing a billboard showing the importance of driving without distractions. It can be hand drawn or digital. The winner will receive $150 prize and your artwork will be placed on 4 billboards. See Mrs. Nafziger in the art room for information about this contest.

Results from last night: The JV and Varsity volleyball teams were lost on the road last night at Wauseon. The JV soccer team lost to Kalida 2 to 1.  Meleah Plank scored for the Blackbirds. The golf team won over Montpelier in BBC play 163 to 182.  Scoring for the Blackbirds: Max Leppelmeier 37 Medalist, Tommy McWatters 38, Caleb Nafziger 44, Josh Horning 44. The junior high volleyball teams lost to visiting Edgerton last night.

Good luck to the varsity cross country runners tomorrow at the Otsego Invitational.

Thursday, Aug. 29 - 

The fair starts tomorrow and the Music Booster fair booth still needs volunteers.  There are still many open spots available throughout the weekend, but especially on Wednesday and Thursday.  Please use the link on the school website in the Live Feed section and encourage your family members to help support Pettisville Schools.

Wednesday, Aug. 28 - 

The Fulton County fair begins soon and the Pettisville Music Boosters is still in need of volunteers to help staff the booth. Funds from this booth go not only to K-12 music students, but also to school organizations like Yearbook, FCCLA, Art, and Student Council. You’ll find a direct link to sign up on the school’s website under the Newsletter. Thank you for your help.

If your chromebook has an issue, please take it to the office. You will fill out a form and then receive a loaner chromebook. The loaner chromebook must be returned at the end of the day.

Congratulations to the varsity soccer team for picking up the first win of over Otsego last night by a score of 8-0.  Gonzalo Pajares scored 3 goals, Issac St. John and Zakkai Kaufmann with 2 goals each, and Felipe Chavez with 1 goal.  The JV soccer team will travel to Kalida this Thursday. The varsity team will be back in action on Thursday, September 5 at Wauseon.

The varsity golf team defeated Hilltop at Patriot Hills by a score of 162 to 196.  Scoring for the Blackbirds: Max Leppelmeier and Tommy McWatters were co-medalists with 38’s, Caleb Nafziger with a 42 and Josh Horning with a 44.  The golf team will host Montpelier on Thursday.

The JV and Varsity volleyball teams lost two close matches with Hilltop last night.  The JV and Varsity volleyball teams will travel to Wauseon on Thursday.

The JH volleyball teams split with Hilltop.  The 7th grade lost in two sets and the 8th grade won in two sets 25-12 and 25-12. The junior volleyball teams will host Edgerton on Thursday.

Ready to get your license? Don’t know how you’re going to fit it in? Completing the 24 hours of classroom instruction online may be the answer. Complete 2 hours online and you can begin driving with the in-car instructor. Complete all 24 hours and you’re ready to get your license. Total cost for online and in-car training is $340. Results from over the weekend:  The cross country teams competed at the Defiance Early Bird Meet.  The varsity girls finished 5th out of 15 teams with Kate Stuber finishing 5th.  The top finisher for the varsity boys was Zach McWatters.  The junior high girls finished 3rd out of 8 teams with Kendall Sears in the top ten finishing in 8th place.  The junior high boys’ top finisher was Oliver Shaw.

The JV and Varsity soccer teams were defeated on Saturday at Archbold. The varsity soccer team will travel to Otsego tomorrow night for a 5:00pm start.
